In just 6 days since its theatrical release, Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 3 needs just Rs 2.52 crore to go past the lifetime collections of Salman Khan’s Christmas blockbuster Dabangg 2.

Some factors that worked in favour or went against the two films.
- Both Krrish 3 and Dabangg 2 were sequels to tremendously successful films. Like Salman’s Chulbul Pandey, Krrish and Rohit Mehra were hugely popular with audiences across all age groups.
- D2’s music was popular with the masses especially Kareena Kapoor’s ‘Fevicol Se’. Rajesh Roshan’s outdated compositions were universally thrashed.
- While Hrithik commands a larger audience / fan base in urban cities, Salman is huge with the masses. Surprisingly though, Dabangg 2 under-performed at smaller centres and Krrish 3 hasn’t sustained too well in major metro cities!
- Business of Dabangg 2 in the North Indian circuits was affected due to severe cold. The dill pre-Diwali phase meant that the first weekend business of Krrish 3 was slightly below trade expectations (at least the exhibitors weren’t too happy in the first 3 days, all that changed on Monday though).
Comparative numbers..
- Dabangg 2 – 3500 screens, Krrish 3 – 3700 screens (4050 including Tamil and Telugu)
- Hindi version weekend – Dabangg 2: 65 crore – Krrish 3: 63.7 crore
- Weekend including all versions – Dabangg 2: 65 crore – Krrish 3: 72.7 crore
- First week – Dabangg 2: 106.5 crore – Krrish 3: 165 crore expected (in 6 days 152.98 cr)

The national holiday christmas collection of dabangg 2 is far lower than the 5th day of Krrish 3 which was a working day. Plus the diwali day mentioned as monday isn’t a national holiday, it was holiday majorly for north and west india. here all schools,colleges and offices were open on monday.

You can thrash BOI all you like but they give the correct figures the fact of the matter is that Krrish 3 is 114cr in 5 days. Case closed the end.

Hrithik and K3 is rocking and soon will derailed Chavanni Express (CE) !!! I am happy to see Hrithik breaking records of Salman’s D2 and it is also good for Salman to have tough competition. From last 3 years Salman had been a juggernaut at Box office and now the real test begins for him. To be honest YJHD (atleast few) started the trend of breaking Salman’s records and it continued with CE and K3. Still Dhoom 3 to come this christmas.
Compare to CE and D2 K3 had more disadvantages. History shows Eid and Christmas has witnessed the highest grossers compare to movies which released on Diwali. K3 is real winner for me !!!!

As per BOI it is 130cr all version. as per producers it is 167. So the right once must be 148 cr arround[Simple average].
CE: As per BOI it is 146 cr. As per producers it is 156 cr. So the right one must be arround 151 cr.
