With Krrish 3 now almost certain to cross the 200 crore mark at the domestic box office, the big question still remains. Can the Hrithik Roshan starrer beat the lifetime collections of Chennai Express?
First 8 days comparison
- Hindi version: Krrish 3 – 165.5 crore, Chennai Express – 156.44 crore (without paid previews).
- Total collections: Krrish 3 – 175.58 crore, Chennai Express – 163.19 crore.
From here on, if Krrish 3 collects about the same as what Chennai Express did after its 8th day, the film will end up with lifetime collections of around 240 crore.
Chennai Express faced stiff competition from Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara in its second week. Krrish 3 too was affected at urban centres with the release of Hollywood superhero film ‘Thor 2’. Next week, Ram Leela will take a huge chunk of screens and shows from Krrish 3, so the film has to collect as much as it possibly can this weekend.

This is ridiculous to compare CE with Krrish 3 collections. Almost 1500 screens were given to Akshay kumar on thursday itself and later on another 1000 screens from friday onwards..and it had tough competiion from other movies. The real stamina of CE was 300crores with atleast 2 weeks full run. Anyways King khan is uncomparable!!. If you want really compare the statistics then Compare CE overseas collection with Krishh3 overseas collection!!(Lifetime). SRK is the only star who can mint 19.5USD Million dollars even with Masala genre!!! Because the whole world loves him so much that they just want to see him on screen!!!!!.
SRK is coming to Dubai on stage show on the eve of UAE’s national day on DEC 1st….Already bought the VVIP ticket for the show…cant wait to see the baadshah of bollywood!
Satya2 is nt a compititor.but thor2 wud have affected in multiplexes. Till ramleela,it will collect 215+.after that it will slowly run to 230 crores.

This year the real box office competition is between “Krrish 3” and “Dhoom 3” as i told earlier and “CE” will be third biggest grosser of 2013.Srk can’t give biggest grosser of the year.
Some people will still ask to post the collection of Hindi version separately. Krrish 3 has very good chance to become the highest domestic grosser of all time, which will be good for this industry, it took 4 years to break 3 Idiots record, now, I expect these records to be broken within a year. Dhoom 3, Jai Ho, P.K., Bang Bang, and Happy New Year should be able to create new records.
K3 is clear winner over CE.

chennai express is fast train in the boxoffice and we all had know that it has no 1 the highest bollywood movie even in overseas also ! if krrish 3 have good chance to break the life time collection of the train it doesnt matter so krrish 3 absolutely stronger than that train ! by the way the worldwide grossing in train own recoooooooords ! mark my words someone from indonesia

I’d strongly say CE is still the winner, considering all the factors, I personally enjoyed CE way more than Krrish:3.
CE has the charisma and flavors of an Indian movie.
Krrish:3, being similar to Hollywood, is what we’ve watched time and again in much superior quality, which is why comparison (though unfair) is irresistible.
But well done Krrish:3, many predicted it to be around 120 -150cr, where are they now? Hats off to the makers!

Its very easi for any film to break ce record by the help of huge manipulation, but it is impossible to break ce record in real collection acc to boxofficeindia.

But nobody can deny that OUATIMD bombed at the box office and that definitely worked in CE’s favour. Plus the Id holiday on day 1 of release boosted the film’s prospects big time while K3 suffered due to the pre diwali lull. All in all,its quite even!
