Box office comparison between 4 of the biggest blockbusters in Indian Cinema – Kick vs Krrish 3 vs Dhoom 3 vs Chennai Express – will give readers an idea as to how much Kick can go on to collect before the end of its run.
Kick has collected Rs 21.66 crore on Wednesday, to take its 6-day total to Rs 148.81 crore net. In comparison, Chennai Express had collected 130.36 crore in its first 6 days (137.11 including paid previews), Krrish 3 had collected 152.98 crore (including regional versions) and Dhoom 3 had netted 174.98 crore (including regional versions).
Kick vs Chennai Express vs Ek tha Tiger – Box Office
6 days after theatrical release, Kick is ahead of Chennai Express, which went on to collect Rs 227 crore at the domestic box office. But the Shahrukh Khan starrer had a national holiday on its 7th day (Independence Day), which took its first week business to 156.71 crore. Kick would need to add around 11.5 crore on Thursday to collect as much as Chennai Express did in its first week.

Every time don,t compare collection. It,s u media who make comparison every time according to boxoffice …and thats why Superstars look for only money making and make brainless movies again & again. Those days were gone when we get to watch quality movies frm Superstars.
I am sad that Kick with horrible editing, scenes with no links and no follow through and songs just coming from no where is competing with much better made blockbusters like CE, K3 and Dhoom3. Sohail Khan and Kabir Khan had done a much better job making Jai Ho and Ek Tha Tiger but it will beat them and also 3 Idiots. Bad luck that Salman’s Jai Ho did not do well though a much better movie by him.
Anyways Kick is a Eid release so lets make this horrible movie a super hit.

@King, we have included paid preview collections in first week. But it is important to clearly mention the collections without paid previews too as its an additional half-day (CE 5-6 shows at multiplexes as previews). Screens and ticket prices will always increase. HNY will get more screens than Kick, PK will get more than HNY. That’s because more multiplexes are coming up across the country.

Equalling one negative n positive points. Higher Buzz cancels the Pre Diwali Effect….

Now Acco to BOI Ram leela collected 15.5 crores on first day & K3 collected just 20.5 crores which doesn’t make any sense since K3 had double Screen Count n higher ticket price.

Chennai Express has had more holidays compared to any of the above (Eid, I-day, Raksha Bandhan, and all during weekdays). Though it had competition, but it was so bad that it didn’t ruffle a single feather. A point to be noted is that if OUTIMD had released along with CE on eid, it would surely have affected initial collections, but by the time it released the wom was better for CE.
K3 is big franchise, and even though it was pre-diwali, there was no competition and post Diwali it was holidays in major metros across the country so collections are bound to be huge.
D3 is an even bigger franchise, add to that Aamir Khan, plus December Xmas holidays across nation. Huge advantage.
Kick comparatively released pre-eid, but has slightly more screens.
So, if you take each to its own, still comparatively, Kick is running on one single factor – Salman Khan.
I can’t imagine what the business would be if Salman had been in D3. It would have been a tsunami.

@Navin – I can’t remember a single scene in Krrish which was copied from X-Men (only some characters were similar), but I do remember Dhoom 3 was completely ripped off of Nolan’s The Prestige and many scenes were copied from Ghost Protocol, Transformers (the bike which would beat Batman’s car), Now You See Me, The Dark Knight (poster). They just couldn’t copy the brilliant techniques to actually show the bank robberies. Aamir’s Samar act also reminded of SRK in My Name Is Khan!
Plus, Aamir in a BMW was probably the funniest thing ever in Bollywood history. His hands and feet could barely touch the handle and gears.

Kick collected more than 19cr according to BOI’s early estimation. But according to Indicine its 18cr. For others’ movies indicine’s collection always higher than BOI. And for Salman movies indicine’s collections less than BOI….
