Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone’s Karthik Calling Karthik releases this weekend. The response to the trailers has been good and the chemistry between the lead stars has created enough buzz for the film to open to good numbers.
There are several factors though, that could go against the film
- The coming Friday also witnesses two other releases – Amitabh Bachchan’s Teen Patti and a small-release Prem Ka Game which has Salman Khan in a special apperance.
- While the release of KCK is expected to make a huge dent on the 3rd weekend collections of MNIK, it could go the other way round too. As multiplexes would still be showing MNIK on 3 – 4 shows a day.
- Akhtar’s films usually perform better at bigger cities. He lacks fan-following in smaller cities, especially with the single screen audience. Deepika though is quite popular with the masses.

Rachit123, Rock On was in the same range although it received tremendous critical acclaim.
But yes, KCK has more mass appeal. Still, 45 – 50 crores is highly unlikely.
i think if kck is liked,then it can easily earn in the range of 45-50 cr.because it will get the support of multiplex audience.
I will watch it on a dvd only
it will be 25 Crores lifetime

Expecting not more than 30 crores..
