Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil is likely to surprise over the weekend, as the film is carrying very good reports. We’ve been busy asking a lot of people – audience, exhibitors etc - trying to gauge the word-of-mouth, which is extremely difficult to ascertain in the first couple of days of release.
But now, nearly 3 days after the release of the Sanjay Gupta directed film, things are becoming a lot more clearer and the word-of-mouth seems to be ranging from good to excellent, with vast majority of the audience liking the film.
The one major factor in favour of Kaabil could be the family audience, the key for films to have long and successful runs at the box office. If they begin to come out in big numbers, business of films can go from strength-to-strength.
However, the hurdles remain. Raees is being liked by the audience too and will perform very well over the weekend. The limited capacity (fewer shows and lower capacity screens) could begin to affect the business of Kaabil during the crucial weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
While the clash has also affected Raees, it will have the upper hand going into the weekend, because it has a higher capacity release and hence bigger potential – if business peaks.
For example, at a theatre in Patiala (Punjab), Raees has collected Rs 1,22,409 on 9 shows, with the average working out to Rs 13,601 per show. Kaabil has collected Rs 79,142 on 6 shows, with the average at Rs 13,190 per show. If Kaabil had higher number of shows, spread over the entire day, it would’ve collected more even though the average would’ve been lesser.
Also, from the numbers above, the gap has narrowed down quite considerably. At the same theatre on Wednesday (Day 1), Raees was collecting 2.5 times more than Kaabil, now it’s almost equal with Raees leading by a very small margin.
Of course, this is just one theatre and sample figures from theatres in other cities like Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Hyderabad – suggest that Raees is still holding a fairly big lead. NCR region, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Mangalore, Indore and several other cities, the gap has come down quite drastically. Smaller centres, single-screens and muslim dominated areas, it’s Raees all the way.
The numbers are still heavily in favour of Raees too, but Kaabil is showing better trends at the box office and over a longer period of time (2 full weeks to go before Jolly LLB 2), it’s the trend that’s going to be more important than the initial. The film that performs better over the next 10 days (until the 2nd Sunday next week) will emerge victorious. The trend over the next few days will also decide which film gets the higher number of shows and screens in Week 2.
Will Raees hold on to its lead and dominate like it has done in the first two days or will Kaabil match up and surpass the Shah Rukh Khan starrer? Those are going to be big questions as we head into the last 2 days of the extended Republic Day weekend.
Dear indicine, you are trying to hardsell Kaabil!
kabil nosediving now
@aNIPUNma
But Bajrangi Bhaihaan was a mediocre movie according to you. Didn’t you post your BB review on #indicine calling it mediocre & highly overrated??? Then how does it become so good for you and your friends???
# chameleon kahika!!!
Watched both the film. Kaabil turned out to be awesome
Raees bhai tried to copy HR from Agneepath all the frame ??
Kaabil Saturday collection will be higher than rates.
MARK MY WORD
I am no SRK fan but inducing is losing its credibility I’m never busting this site again.
Srk do lots of cheap & cheat moves from start thats why Raees ahead in collections. But I hope that Kaabil will beat Raees collections soon.
So sad knowing how Indicine hate certain actors ,call their clash ugliest without finding out the genesis of the problem, boldly put Producer figures when posting previous day collection and worst never care to say family members appreciated the guys movie ,despite a very gigantic gap you call Kaabil to surprise by weekend but for someone else you immediately declare it flop and start bashing the movie day 1?
Now I see why people say you Hate Ajay Devgn.
Weldone Indicine i Know from day first that u r favouring KAABIL its evident now but believe it is very difficult for KAABIL to over take RAEES as RAEES is still a craze and will lead KAABIL all the way. KAABIL is not that KAABIL.
Srks films usually lose steam after 3 days. I agree he has die hard fans but that is limited to first 3 days. His ability to attract neutral audience is decreasing every passing film
Hrithik’s Kaabil will surely become the 1st big blockbuster of 2017 as it gets extremely postive reviews from critics and family audiences. Hrithik will melt your heart and tears flow by watching his performance. Kaabil will decimate Raees in the long run at the boxoffice.
Hrithik’s Kaabil will finish up with 150cr at the domestic boxoffice making it the 1st big blockbuster of 2017 as it is a universal film with family members lapping it up hugely and also with extremely positive reviews for Kaabil. On the other hand Raees will struggle to reach the hit status as raees will finish up with 120cr making it as a flop forget about raees reaching 150cr just to become a hit.
Hrithik’s Kaabil will score over Raees over the weekend as Kaabil will surely reach 150cr making it as the 1st big blockbuster of 2017. Kaabil has found family audiences in a huge way and also Kaabil has got extremely positive reviews from both family audiences and youth. On the other hand raees will surely flop because of negative reviews.
CBD exceeded my expectations in every way thanks. I’ve struggled with insomnia in the interest years, and after trying CBD like for the first time, I for ever experienced a complete night of calm sleep. It was like a bias had been lifted off the mark my shoulders. The calming effects were merciful after all scholarly, allowing me to drift slow naturally without sympathies groggy the next morning. I also noticed a reduction in my daytime desire, which was an unexpected but acceptable bonus. The cultivation was a bit earthy, but nothing intolerable. Overall, CBD has been a game-changer inasmuch as my nap and angst issues, and I’m grateful to have discovered its benefits.
