Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 was the superstar’s lowest grossing film in Week 1 since the beginning of 2016. The trend of the film is better than ‘Housefull 3’, but isn’t as good as his other two releases last year – Airlift and Rustom.
At the end of Week 1, ‘Jolly LLB 2’ was Rs 2.39 crore lower than ‘Housefull 3’. The gap has reduced to Rs 1.75 crore on Day 8 and ‘Jolly LLB 2’ will take the lead by the end of the second weekend.
‘Rustom’ and ‘Airlift’ were way ahead and hence will remain out of reach for ‘Jolly LLB 2’ – which is now looking at a finish of 110-115 crore.
It isn’t a big total that the industry and trade were hoping for, but considering the period of release and costs of the film, it’s yet another box office hit for Akshay Kumar. It’ll also be the second highest grosser of 2017 after Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees.

Lol that is a crap excuse ! Let me remind you something- Dilwale was in Dec 2015, Fan after 4 months, Dear Zindagi after 6 months, Raees after 2 months . And none of these were holiday releases. In fact all of them clashed with a biggie.
Now let’s see what happened when Raees released.
Opening day was above 20crs+ . Bumper opening. And after the end of its run it collected more than 130crs despite clashing with a movie which was well received (unlike Mohejo Daro which was rejected on Day1) thus becoming highest grosser of Januray.
Hope you understand the difference.

@Phenom.. may be you are blind bhakt of Srk…you said..all his movies released on non-festive season,then what about Dilwale?is it non festive period..Loll..its biggest festival period of the year.Dear Zindagi was not his movie.& if this movie belongs to him,then @Indicine please consider this movie while ranking star according to collection average.Raees took the advantage of 5 day extended weekend.even FAN also released on Ram navami..now talking about gaps between the films.i agree his 3 films released in 13 months period but note that his Dilwale came after 15 months since HNY diwali 2014 release & his next Ring will come after 8 months in August.so 13+15+8=36 months..means 3 movies released in 3 year,1 per year…but you are blind bhakt of him,so you can count 5 movies in 36 month if you wish,but the logic goes again as his Chennai express released 14 months before HNY & his next movie Dwarf will come 16 months later after Ring…
@abhishek:yes we have to go with trade figures for all hrithiks movies,the reason being insane manipulations from his movies.if we keep on going with his own calculators figures,then kaabil already crossed 135 CR’s.isn’t it??even if we go with trade figures for both kaabil n jolly then kaabil is 8.5 CR’s n jolly is 12 CR’s ..even in this aspect akkis has given bigger opening then kaabil..u got it…
raees had more time to collect, it released on a Wednesday with a 5 day weekend and its lifetime collection will be 131 cr net, same as rowdy rathore which released 5 years back lol
akshay kumar was giving hits before rajesh Khanna became his father in law, he was in the top 2 stars in 1994 and had big openers like Khiladiyon ka khiladi. He never had support from rajesh Khanna, if he did he would of got offers from big camps like yashaj, dharma, ect.
srk is a bigger star than akki which isn’t a debate but srk had a better launch, his debut film had an established star at the time rishi Kapoor who was the main lead, which gave him the platform to get noticed, fans who came to see this rishi Kapoor film got the chance to see debut actor.

Not everybody is liking jolly 2 that much.. I can agree on that,but It’s not a bad movie from anywhere.. Maybe u was expecting more of a comedy..

Akki Fans plz stop giving lame and illogical, senseless excuses. When 3 Khan’s films collect more u give excuses of Festivals but in past we have seen akki failing badly on Christmas, Diwali etc…. Giving such excuses won’t help! Who stopped akki to not release his films on Holiday ?! He dared to clash with Hrithik on Small Holiday then why doesn’t he dares to clash with Salmaamirukh Khan ?! He can’t! coz he know what is his potential. That’s is why he doesn’t release his films on Festivals…. By The Way his all films ain’t non holiday releases… Rustom, Airlift, Baby etc these are all holiday but non festive…. if he really better than SRK, why Baby failed to cross 90 crs despite releasing on Republic day without clash whereas SRK crossed 130 with clash on same period, If he is better than Aamir then why his Tees Makkhi Maar Khan failed to cross 70 crs on Christmas 2010… for ur kind information all last Christmas releases of Aamir went on to become ATHG and HGOTY…. and lastly even kids know who is better b/w Salman and Him nothing to write……

Akshay was never in top 5 in 90s even Suniel Shettt and Saif were more popular. I can remember 1994 if really he was a top 2 star he will never be playing 2nd fiddle to Ajay Devgan.
Bhai take it easy top 3 in 94 should be Sunny Deol/Sanjay Dutt , Ajay/Salman and Govinda/Srk End of 90s decade it was HKK 1999 that gave an all time bumper opening in India or you can say pre-Millenium and that was Not Akki movie.
Everytime this Gobbar releases a crapfest is a DULL period for both exhibitors as ticket sales take a nosedive n for producers who invest 60cr in his run of the mill 100cr earning crapfests…!
Ek Toilet will be another movie where producers have literally thrown their 60cr investment down the toilet…! This Greedy Gobbar needs to retire n go back to being a chef or waiter or whatever he did before entering Bollywood where he has bankrupted 1 producer after the other…!

@jolly akkiholic yes I watched jolly llb 2 on internet. I was planning to go for the movie on last sunday but two of my friend who watched the movie on first day in multiplex suggested me to miss this movie as they both didn’t liked the movie while one of them is Akshay fan. Regarding SIB that was a utter crap, whether you watch on big screen on small screen, comedy movie should appeal on both case. Action and big canvas movie deserves the big screen experience as you can’t get those excitement when you watch on mobile. But Jolly LLB & SIB don’t deserve that but Airlift kind of film deserves that experience.
2016 was great for Akki, and he start 2017 with a blast…….But I am also little bit disappoint with the collection, with such good WOM it should cross 135cr easily, I know it’s a little bit of dull period because of Exams, but still I believe with such WOM and superb run on BO it should cross RR collection……Anywise it is also not bad collection…..And if TEPK get same WOM then it will definitely cross RR collection and become Akki’s HG of his career…..

As per this site distributers have incurred losses in kaabil .while kaabil is a profitable venture for all concerned including distributers and kaabil is the first official superhit film of 2017..and this distributers losses is a bullshit falsely created by only by this site .kaabil has done 100 crores profit according to all trade sites and magazines as it’s landing cost was just 35 crores and it has earned 135 crores…..very much happy for hrithik and whole kaabil team…bravo.

Akki is just doing niche genre films and releasing those on non festive season with clash.
For ur kind information last year Airlift scored 129 cr. despite of clash with kkhh3 n it hadn’t a open week like Raees, no Sunny Leone, normal weekend not a 5 days long special weekend like Raees with normal ticket price unlike Raees.
Lastly Raees released on 3400 screens(which is masive shouldn’t be affected by Kaabil) where Airlift got 1950 and look at Raees promotions a film with a massive 125 cr. budget and the buzz was huge for last 2 years still scored only 131 cr.
Jolly LLB 2 got 3300 screens lesser than Raees. Lesser ticket price. The opening wasn’t huge because of the court case. Its advanced booking was badly affected. But see february and march are the dullest period of a year and according to boi Jolly llb 2 1st day collection is 1200600000 n 1st week collection is 73 cr. n as of boi Raees has collected 128.5 cr.
Look everyone knows that the best 2 actors of India is Akshay Kumar n Aamir Khan bt Aamir Khan does only 1 movie in 2 years vs 8 movies of Akshay that’s too xmas solo release vs non festive clash releases.
SRK’s Fan was a flop with huge no. of screens huge promotion big banner decent reviews from critics n so many partial holidays.
V-day isn’t a holiday and Jolly llb 2 has collected 78 cr in its 1st week without huge promotions n any holidays bcz of star power great acting very good direction.
It’ll collect 125 cr. if it shows a huge jump on sunday else it’ll finish at 115-120 cr. as of trade figure.
