FAN has collected about 10% more than Jai Ho at the domestic box office and the territorial circuit wise breakdown of the two films make for a very interesting comparison. Jai Ho was Salman’s last non-festive release (without the advantage of Eid, Christmas, Diwali) and FAN is Shah Rukh Khan’s first non-festive release since My Name Is Khan in 2010.
While we are not going to get into the release factors of the two films, it’s quite clear from the comparison below that Jai Ho performed very well at mass-centres, while FAN was ahead at multiplexes and centres where niche films do well.
FAN has won 7 circuits, including the big three which include Mumbai, Delhi/UP and East Punjab. It has also done very well in West Bengal and south circuits – Mysore, Andhra, Tamilnadu and Kerala.
Jai Ho due to its genre and Salman’s presence was fantastic in Rajasthan, CI, CP Berar, Assam, Bihar and Orissa.
All factors considered, there is not much to choose between the two on Day 1. The only difference could be the word-of-mouth which comes into effect quicker at places where FAN is doing well – which, if positive, could help the film grow to fantastic numbers during the weekend, or bring down the film if it doesn’t find appreciation.

Its too early to call but it appears that SRK fans have accepted that FAN has and will under perform. Before release they were talking about 200 cr or even 300cr and now they are trying to find excuses to prepare ground for low final tally. SRK has done justice to his role in the movie n was great as always but FAN may end up less than Airlift in final tally if not much growth is seen today n tomorrow.

Well, I Watched FAN ,
HERE is short review:-
First half is good but slightly boring.
Second half is slightly illogical but entertaining.
Climax is emotional.
Overall I give – 6.5/10
Acting of SRK is biggest plus in this movie.
Box office wise this will not be a biggie, but will be profitable.
I guess lifetime will be – 130 crs.
Though.. Considering all facts Fan 1st day collection is not upto the mark for sure. And ha ha ha The most critically aclaimed movie of srk recently is compairing with worst movie of salmans recently… Is this fair …? @ indicine.. Ha ha ha .. Cant stop loughing.

Frustrated Srkay fans will now bash Jai ho as much as they can. But that will not increase fan’s collectioins. One more underperformance by our SRK is on cards. Think about that and stop living on Bhai’s one and only average performance in recent years.

SRK gave a record opening day of 44.97 cr on Dilwali day.
Irony is, a so called megastar released his movie on the same day with more number of screens, one year later. And guess what, he fell short by 1-2-3-4, total 4 crore.
Post this debacle , they chanted about non-holiday openers.
Again SRK came and thrashed the 2 years old opening numbers, with almost no backing from other star cast or genre and with 400 less screens, with a margin of 2 crores.
So conclusion is, form is temporary , class is permanent.
1000 of xyz will come and claim to destroy the kingdom of SRK.
But King Khan always proves them wrong and shows why he is the ultimate king.

Noon reports of FAN are out and it is 5-10% less than yesterday Noon occupancy.
So morning it was 15-20% less and in Noon it is 5-10% less than yesterday, Now it has to really perform very well in Evening (around 95%) if it has to sustain otherwise it will crush badly from Monday…
Not a fair comparison fan has more advantage over jai ho like fan has positive wom, partial holiday , higher ticket price (the mazor difference) , more budget and good production
and if you say that genre then you know that masala films period has gone and hence fan has more appropriate genre in todays time as trailer of fan receive good response and songs of jai ho not was a chartbuster whereas jabra fan song created some buzz .

After two years with hiked ticket price backed YRF & released on a partial holiday, the content rich film, FAN, is being compared with the maha crap film (according to SRKians) Jai Ho released on non holiday and very low ticket price and directed by Sohail Khan.. Thats unlimited fun! Lol
My first day prediction was accurate, I had said 19 cr. Now my lifetime prediction of 135 cr. will hardly go 15 to 20 % wrong unless magical calculator does some magic . That means it’s lifetime collection will be at most 15 cr. ahead of The jungle book and may finish even bellow. Conclusions is instead of barking against bhai’s 2 year old film go and watch that pankha again and help it to cross The Jungle Book other wise go and die.
