Jagga Jasoos has performed fairly well on its opening day at the box office, collecting 8.57 crore on Friday. The film needs big growth over the next two days to have any chance of recovering costs. The hope is that the family audience, especially the kids, will come in bigger numbers on Saturday evening onwards.
The response is extreme, it seems to be a ‘love it or hate it’ kind of film. A section of the audience has loved the film for its uniqueness and performances, while the rest haven’t had good things to say about it. The word-of-mouth is certainly nowhere close to as good as ‘Barfi’, but the costs are higher here, so recovery won’t be easy.
The advance at metro cities is slightly better than the opening day, especially in the NCR region. It will be the Top 5-10 cities that’ll have to perform in the next few days and the kind of growth the film shows on Saturday will probably decide its fate.
Amongst opening day collections of 2017 films, the opening of Jagga Jasoos is in the same range as Kaabil and Sachin: A Billion Dreams. Bahubali 2 aside, Raees remains the Hindi film to beat this year.

The problem was that the promos were confusing, so many ppl didn’t know what to expect.
I think it’ll have a decent growth today, I’m expecting it to collect 10.9cr on Day2.

There are two ways to look at the opening of Jagga Jasoos . In terms of budget and scale the opening should have been 10+ . JJ has been made on a budget of 110 CR so it needed a big opening . Looking from the other side because of multiple delays, reshoot, less buzz and overbudget the opening of JJ is decent . Since Besharam only ADHM got a very good opening and it had advantage of great music, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar . The next 2 days will be extremely crucial which will decide the fate of this film . As of now I can see JJ crashing badly on Monday . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I challenge this movie can’t cross even 65cr. Budget 115cr. Disaster.
