It’s no secret now that Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ is not sustaining at the box office and the film is carrying extremely negative word-of-mouth. The growth on Sunday isn’t really there, when (given the high costs and star cast) today should have seen the film crossing the 25 crore mark at the box office.
Tomorrow is a partial holiday for ‘Raksha Bandhan’, but we doubt the film will hold up. Some multiplexes are bringing down the ticket prices to weekday levels tomorrow, while others will continue selling tickets at weekend rates. Tuesday is the first weekday for the film, ticket prices will come down all across and since the film is only performing at metro cities – business is likely to come crashing down. And then there is a big film like ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ scheduled for next week.
The collections of the film has shocked the industry and added to the gloom in the ‘Post Bahubali 2’ era. Almost all films have fallen. A film like ‘Tubelight’ that was expected to do 300 crore, finished with collections of 120 crore, while another major superstar like Shah Rukh Khan could now be giving a film that grosses less than his 2010 film ‘My Name Is Khan’. In fact, the collections of ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ could end up being lower than a small critically acclaimed film like ‘Hindi Medium’.
These are disastrous times for the industry. All eyes will now be on Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’.

Now where are those Idiots who were barking that Tubelight get the benefit from EID….just like JHMS in Tubelight also EID falls on 4th day, and due to negative WOM from 1st day itself, it did not get any advantage of EID holiday……Remember Salman has huge fan following in Muslims also and all his Muslim fans who didn’t get chance to watch it on 1st day (due to Ramadan Period) they watch it on EID day……….
People have to understand that movie get benefit from holiday only if it was well received by audience or if holiday falls on 1st or 2nd day otherwise it did not add much value to business….

I see everybody complaining why SRK did a film like JHMS. Fair enough its a poor film. Everyone’s complaining why cant he pick good scripts.
One must remember that with FAN and RAEES , SRK did try his hand outside romantic genre and was not successful.
These are testing times for SRK, he is beginning to lose his super stardom. He will be the first Khan to move to character roles I feel . Ofcourse see a bright future for Red Chillies, it will be come a big production house producing 2-3 films every year I feel.

its quite clear his time is cmg to an end just like amitabh’s did back in the day the anand L rai movie will decide if its an official end of srk’s carrier as far as boxoffice pull is concerned or not. sure he will be remembered as best of his generation along with dilip kumar, amitabh but just no longer a box office king. and salman is also not far away as far away as age is not on his side either. for aamir its a different thing cuz he is adjustable with his character & is willing to play roles that suits his age(example dangal). aamir never built larger than life persona like srk in 95′ 96 & salman in 2010. he slowly built his trust in people after giving good content movie after movie so now people are ready to seen him in a father’s avatar & still create havoc on box office but that wont happen for srk/salman in a father’s role. sure the end time will come for amir too but i feel he will hav a few more years than salman. and salman will also hav a few more years than srk cuz he came into his own in 2010 so he may feel a bit fresher to newer fans than srk who was dominating right from the 90’s so most people are already sick of seeing him on big screen.
