The trailer of the last film of 2015 has been released. The industry now gears up for the biggest clash of the year as Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale and Ranveer Singh’s Bajirao Mastani are both scheduled to release on 18 December.
Since both films are releasing on a normal Friday, it’ll be interesting if the combined collections of the two films can beat the record set by Dhoom 3 in 2013. D3 collected Rs 36.22 crore on its opening day, which was a working day. The combined screen-count of Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani will be higher than Dhoom 3, and the two films could be targeting business in the range of 35-40 crore on Day 1.
We expect Dilwale to lead, as the SRK starrer is not only the bigger film of the two, but it should also get around 30% more shows at multiplexes. Our initial prediction for Dilwale after the trailer launch of the film is Rs 25 crore and for Bajirao Mastani it’s Rs 11 crore. Final predictions will be published on 17th December i.e a day before the two films release.
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is currently trending at Rs 41.8 crore, final prediction will be made tomorrow. The other two major releases of the year are Tamasha and Hate Story 3. Check out the table below.

@The phenom Everyone knows that PK wasn’t promoted, had very different genre, trailer wasn’t released instead only teaser, and was released on working day. Dilwale wony break pk’s opening and it will prove that aamir is much more powerful than srk and aamir always rules. Srk is nothing in front of aamir. Waif for next year, dangal will shatter all opening records and the opening of dangal will surely beat Crappy new year.
25 crore with Clash will be superb..it will set the platform for an 80-85 crore weekend and a huge lifetime total..I am more interested in knowing the final screen count of both the films..if Dilwale gets more than 3000 screens anyhow then the opening day number can be a bit higher too..As for Prem Ratan Dhan Payo,it should be 46-48 crores..and i won’t be surprised if it manages a bit more than this

But PRDP will make upto 50cr
Even if BM manages 11 cr ( I don’t think it will ) , it suggests that BM will end up with collections around 90 crs , that too with positive WOM . Remember the buget ? 130-140 crs !

let me remind all, when jab tak hai jaan and son of sardaar clashed in 2012, screen count was almost same for both movies and the day was not suitable for film business(due to diwali puja) and jthj was fighting against a massy & commercial film still it managed 15 cr+ opening. This time dilwale is a commercial film and will be clashing against a smaller and not so commercial film and screen count will be bigger so 25cr+ opening is certain!
