Now that the trailers of Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees and Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil are out, it’s time to the start the ‘IndicineFBO’ prediction of the two films.
Earlier, both films were scheduled to release on the Republic Day holiday which would’ve probably meant the combined collections of the two films could’ve crossed the Rs 40 crore mark. But with both makers deciding to release their film a day in advance to take advantage of the night shows before the holiday, we believe around 30-31 could be divided between the two films on the opening day – assuming Filmkraft Productions’ decide to go for a full-fledged release on Wednesday (25 Jan).
Kaabil is the smaller film of the two films, both in terms of star-cast and budget. The lead actors of both films are returning after box office failures – FAN tanked at the box office in April, while Mohenjo Daro was one of the biggest disasters of Hrithik Roshan’s career.
We start with 18 crore for Raees and 12 crore for Kaabil as the initial FBO prediction. The table below will be updated once every two days, a lot could change in the next few weeks depending on the response to the music album and promos.

Unknown Director, actors, real treatment to story, no melodrama and over the top acting like Sultan, No one man show in film, Absence of top actress, Director etc. So many factors….
SRK and Salman go all over media to promote their films. For Raees, SRK is doing two episodes of BIG BOSS with Salman. SRK needs Salman to promote his films. SRK and SK work with only big directors, big actresses, abroad locations, blockbuster music…

It’s not going to be easy for Raees. SRK doesn’t look for content.
Kaabil seems winner from second week.
Kaabil already recovered its cost. Box office will be a bonus.
