Now that the trailers of Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees and Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil are out, it’s time to the start the ‘IndicineFBO’ prediction of the two films.
Earlier, both films were scheduled to release on the Republic Day holiday which would’ve probably meant the combined collections of the two films could’ve crossed the Rs 40 crore mark. But with both makers deciding to release their film a day in advance to take advantage of the night shows before the holiday, we believe around 30-31 could be divided between the two films on the opening day – assuming Filmkraft Productions’ decide to go for a full-fledged release on Wednesday (25 Jan).
Kaabil is the smaller film of the two films, both in terms of star-cast and budget. The lead actors of both films are returning after box office failures – FAN tanked at the box office in April, while Mohenjo Daro was one of the biggest disasters of Hrithik Roshan’s career.
We start with 18 crore for Raees and 12 crore for Kaabil as the initial FBO prediction. The table below will be updated once every two days, a lot could change in the next few weeks depending on the response to the music album and promos.

My Prediction:
Raees:
Day1: 18-20cr
Lifetime: 200-210cr
Kaabil: 13-15cr
Lifetime: 140-150cr
Assusming both will have good WOM.
Not interested in both Raees and Kabil
If your prediction of Raees turns out to be true, then 18cr is a huge number considering the normal working Day and clash with another movie.
However, I believe this is going to be a gamble for both the movie where there is no space for a movie with bad content.
By Thursday evening, WOM will come into picture and movie with negative WOM will suffer for next three days i.e. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
And I do feel that in the extended weekend itself, the movie with better WOM will take a decisive lead over the another movie.
So let’s see which movie bombs – Raees, Kaabil or both.
Best case scenario : One movie will emerge victorious while another will tank.
Worst case scenario : Both will fall flat on B.O.
However, in any case, one movie out of these two is bound to fail.
This clash is the most risky clash witnessed in recent times where two biggies are fighting for a small weekend like Republic Day.

@Indicine… I would like to suggest, that you should do this poll again a few days later, when people will be having a clear view which film they actually would like to see… because today ‘Raees’ is super hot just like ‘Fan’ was… Even I have voted for Raees and am very sure because I am doubtful about Sanjay Gupta’s directional capabilities… A few days down the line when more songs and promos will be out, there will be a better picture of this scenario regarding the clash… So polling today will be a kind of biased… Anyways all the best for you Indicine guys… You are doing good work…

Waiting for Raees trailer response article. I’m sure Kaabil team will be relieved after watching Raees trailer. Everybody was expecting a serious gangster type film, but it turned out to be a masala potboiler with forced romance and over the top action.
