Our new feature, #IndicineFBO, where we predict the first day collections of every film after the release of its trailer, has received a fabulous response. Especially from the industry and trade, the feedback and response has been overwhelming over the last couple of weeks since we started the new feature. Exhibitors who are keen on knowing the opening day ‘forecast’ of films have supposedly found the new feature pretty useful too.
So far, our predictions have turned out to be pretty accurate too. Akshay Kumar’s Baby was a tough film to predict, as pre-release reports were excellent and the trade was hoping against hope that the film would take a 10 crore+ opening.
Trade estimates for the first day is around ? 8 crore, while the official figures for Day 1 is ? 9.3 crore. Before the release of the film, our opening day prediction was ? 8.5 crore, which happens to fall right in between the trade and official figures.

while watching and giving predictions of non youngistaan films I don’t give emotional predictions as a result I hv around 80% success rate in correctly predicting lifetime and verdicts of films.
last yr I had made 2 major wrong predictions-hny and singham returns but appart from that almost all my predictions hv matched for non youngistaan films
I also predicted 10cr+ so little dissapointed.
I predicted 10crs..so it’s more accurate than urs indicine ;)
You should’nt have reduced your prediction from 9 to 8.5crs…that would have led to even accurate prediction!
How much producers quote will always be a mystery. We are happy if our prediction is somewhere in between trade and producer figures.
The opening of Baby is less then what i expected . But i am damn sure Baby will grow in the next 3 days . I have read some excellent reviews and i will watch Baby maybe tomorrow . Some people are saying that even youngsters are bigger than Akki… I just want to say to all those people Akshay has been in the industry for 24 years . There is no way you can compare youngsters with Akki . From a middle class family, being a chef, selling imitation jewellery and now one of the highest taxpayers of India that is a huge achievement and no one can take that from him . When he does crap movies everybody criticise him but now when he is doing a good movie then some people are saying that the Box Office Collections are below par . Pehle decide karo ki tumhe kya chahiye ? Baby you rule .
@indicine I don’t think you are right enough for this kind of feature because it not hidden how you quoted official figures and never talked what trade estimate that time.
We have seen how you giving CE,hny,bang bang,k3,d3 and kick collection only with official figure.Even though you and industry better know that CE was not broken ett first day,neither d3 Hindi version collected 100cr in first weekend though its all India figure has crossed 100 cr and hny hasn’t break d3 weekend record all India but yes it Hindi version crossed d3 Hindi.I don’t want to discuss bang bang and k3 here.Pk collection is similar for trade and official.
My only problem why you guys talking and discussing trade figures for Baby and also did at the time of ouatimd.Be specific and equal for all stars after all you are running Bollywood site not a pro khans,hr and anti Ajay,Akki site.
It have to seen what you do once fan,bb,raees,prdp,hr and Aamir next releasing.

@arjun I won’t believe boi,can you tell me any other source which is unbiased or authentic.Boi had flaws no doubt but there only purpose is to track collection not to please fans.How hard Indicine or other sites try to ignore boi but fact is that they are still much authentic.Even I read a tweet of Indicine on twitter by replying to some user that boi has fluctuation in figure and verdict but most of the time they are authentic and they also follow Girish Johar who track collection as a trade expert for BOI.I can’t believe officials man.
Predicting a movie’s first day collection accurately is somewhat tricky & difficult because of various factors associated with the movie , so indicine good predictions indeed!
110-125 crores is what I am expecting the movie to close with but anything more than that I would be really happy. :) :)
If u r giving 9.3 cr for baby then give 2.5 cr for dollykidoli becoz then you should give 7.5 cr for baby as per boxofficeindia……
i don’t know why people creating so much buzz for this movie. .guyz today i have watched this movie and frankly speaking its story line scripting doesn’t have any sense worst movie of the year its better to watch holiday 2 times instead of watching baby single time.
