Akshay Kumar’s BABY releases on 2700 screens tomorrow and the pre-release reports are excellent. We expect the film to collect around Rs 8.5 crore on its first day at the box office. If the audience like the film as much as we have (read the review), then the film should show an upward trend from the evening shows tomorrow.
Ideally, considering the costs involved, Baby should open to 10 crore+ on its opening day (which could still be possible if the reports are excellent).
Akshay and Neeraj Pandey’s last film together, Special 26, collected Rs 5.75 crore on its opening day, but that film was competing against a massy-entertainer like ‘ABCD – Anybody Can Dance’.
The only other release this week is Sonam Kapoor’s Dolly Ki Doli, a female-centric film that will rely on word-of-mouth publicity to do well at the box office. We expect the Arbaaz Khan produced film to collect around Rs 1.5 crore on Day 1.

Akki is used to giving average opening for almost all his films in last 5yrs. So nothing to worry for him as despite so many average opening he has still managed to give hits like OMG, S26, Holiday and Baby could actually be a super-hit as reviews are simply outstanding

@alex u know very well that I was having gross collection =nett collection bcz in then u certificate films are made tax free plus it released in dubbed versions in some other south languages also so its unfair to compare regionak films with Bollywood films or vice versa
btw no offence but v all know how ur regional star vikram fared in Bollywood.his raavan and david bombed so badly that he had to give up his Bollywood dreams and concentrate on his superb tamil carrer instead.i hv nothing againt regional films or vikram but ur comment made me say all these

Sure to collect 13crs + on opening day…. and my predictions have always gone wrong I predicted 29crs + for HNY and it surpassed by huge margin … I hope Baby also does the same .. and prove me totally wrong again..

Buzz is low. Wont cross 10 cr in the opening day. But I hope movie picks up the during the weekend and collect 55 cr in a 4 days extended weekend.

BTW. I would predict the movie to open around 8-9 crores. ATM, not many know that Baby is releasing tomorrow. Seeing tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
@indicine many sites says it has a potential to do 28-30cr in opening day if occupancy is 100% considering no. of screens.
and BABY is not a bad film that may not have even 50% occupancy on its 1st day.

I don’t know if it will release in my country, but I am super excited because reviews are great. so will anyhow watch it on DVD or online. if it releases in my country than in theater for sure.
