Hrithik Roshan talks about clash with Shah Rukh Khan

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan has spoken about the much talked about clash between his home production Kaabil and Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees.

Hrithik shares a good relationship with the main men behind Raees. SRK and Hrithik’s friendship goes back a long way, back to the days when Hrithik was assisting his father on Karan Arjun. Farhan Akhtar is his childhood friend and Hrithik has worked in several Excel Entertainment films.

Talking about the clash at an event in Delhi, Hrithik said “It’s not the ideal situation but it’s happening now and all we can do is communicate with each other and do the best we can.”

“Shah Rukh and I understand each other. Let’s see what happens then” he added.

Hrithik also rubbished rumours of Race 3.

  • Roshans do not move kaabil from January 26 which is indeed a very dull period for business because of three reasons :
    1. Pakistani actress mahira khan
    2. Kaabil budget is less
    3. They are extremely confident of Sanjay Gupta’s direction .

  • Very good.RAEES is a definitely a good film and kaabil is a Sanjay Gupta film.just because it’s a low budget film,that’s why roshans are tension free.still get can think about it’s image.

  • Srk will use all his force to spread negativity for Kaabil just like Kjo paid Krk, critics to sabotage Shivaay..

    These Srk, Kjo r just d same who r expert in paying critics n media to sabotage other film n hype own film.

    Now varun, arjun r following same footsteps n they hv paid indicine to make avg dishoom abv avg .. n abv avg Ki n ka into hit.

  • I can’t say who will win the clash between Kaabil and Raees but I can definitely say this clash will be not ugly . This is the 3rd consecutive clash of HR after BB and MD . This is also SRK’s 3rd clash in this decade after JTHJ and Dilwale . Hrithik has a healthy relationship with Farhan and Ritesh . As of now I don’t think the clash will be averted as Kaabil has been officially announced for 26th Jan and Raees trailer is expected to be launched with DZ next week .

  • Well I fail to understand why 2 big movies fight for just one National holiday (Jan 26th in this case). Let me put a couple of scenarios:-

    Scenario 1 : Raees and Kaabil clash on 26th Jan and assuming both gets good/excellent WOM and equal (more or less) no of screens (2400-2600)..

    In this case the max collection for each could be 15-16cr for the opening day and a 3 day weekend of say around 50-55 cr per film. And obviously one will eat into others’ revenue in the weekdays as well.

    Result : Both movies that would have collected 160-180cr (or even more) if released solo could end up with 90-100 only!

    Both parties will lose here and the movie with higher production cost will lose more.

    Scenario 2 : If Kaabil or Raees comes solo on 13th Jan and the WOM is good/excellent

    Screen count : 3600-3800
    First day could still go around 20cr (as MSD – The untold story showed us)
    First weekend could be around 75-80 cr)
    Final collection will show the full potential of the movie..

    I mean…I don’t understand why FilmKRAFT or Excel can’t think like this?! Isn’t it childish to just show ego and being adamant for just one holiday where you can clearly see you won’t make that advantage count coz of the clash? When will our filmmakers learn such valuable lessons…?

  • The clash won’t be averted. Rakesh Roshan is superstitious regarding movie names and release dates whereas Raees is already a much delayed movie.

  • It’s clear he doesn’t want the clash, I mean who in their right mind would? Really disappointed by Raees makers to firstly, push the release date ahead from last Eid, then deciding to clash with another big movie in January for a single holiday. It’s about SRK’s ego now, he knows it’s bad business, but his ego won’t allow him to change the release date by a week or so. Rakeshji is superstitious, he never changes his release dates and title of his movies always starts with ‘K’. I’m still hoping for clash to be averted and both movies get solo release.
