Yash Raj Films have released the poster of their upcoming biggie Dhoom 3, and with that the production house has also revealed the release date – the Aamir Khan starrer hits theatres during Christmas 2013!
With Yashraj officially announcing the date, all the ‘holiday’ / ‘festival’ slots for 2013 are blocked by major releases.

In 2012, every holiday / festival release has crossed the 100 crore mark - Agneepath (Republic Day), Ek Tha Tiger (EID), Rowdy Rathore (Post-IPL), Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son Of Sardaar (Diwali) have all gone on to be huge grossers. With 65 crores in 3 days, Dabangg 2 is also likely to join the club this week.
No surprise then that the lucrative holiday period has already been taken, almost a year in advance!
Ironically, two superstars Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan are left with no holidays. In the last 3 years, Salman has always ensured that he arrives with an action film during EID. However, in 2013, Balaji Motion Pictures have announced their plans to release their ambitious sequel ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again’ on August 8th. Will there be a clash? If Salman announces his film for EID, will Balaji back out?
When will SRK release his two films – Chennai Express and Happy New Year? Recently, Farah Khan said she was keen on releasing ‘HNY’ during Christmas.. how about Dhoom 3 vs Happy New Year?

Salman Khan is at the zenith of his career today. Not only he is one of the most bankable stars, almost all his recent films have crossed the 100 crore mark. His latest release Ek Tha Tiger has become the fastest film in the history of Bollywood to cross the 100 crore mark in five days. Rumour has it, by seeing Salman Khan’s Box Office record, producer Ramesh Taurani has offered whopping 100 crore to Salman Khan to sign Tips’s next film.
A source told a leading daily, “As expected Ek Tha Tiger has sent the cash registers ringing and many filmmakers have been seen visiting Salman’s residence to make a film with him. However, Taurani, who has earlier worked with Salman and has had him signed since the past couple of years, is very keen that they do a film together.”
The source further added, “A couple of days back, he met Salman and offered him Rs 100 crore for a film. Taurani is aware that the actor’s last three films have done business near to Rs 150 crore net and that’s why he is ready to take the gamble.”

Salman Khan has chosen the ‘Masala’ genre as a one way path to success after disasters and more disasters, whereas, SRK is doing and experimenting in every genre successfully for the past many years. Salman was unsuccessful back then, but, he is successful now. SRK was successful back then and is still successful now. :) Which is why he’s KING ;D
