It was touted to be the month of sequels, but the announcement of ‘Dear Zindagi’ for November 25, a date which was earlier taken by ‘Kahaani 2’ – made it a month dominated by sequels / franchise films, with ‘Dear Zindagi’ being the only other major release.
Let’s take a look at some of the major release in November 2016:
Rock On 2: The first release of November is the sequel to the 2008 film, Rock On!!, a film that worked with a small section of the audience. The new member of the cast is Shraddha Kapoor, the film has a new director too in Shujaat Saudagar. But with less than 5 days to go for release, there is hardly any real interest to watch it in theatres. Rock On 2 will be word of mouth dependent. FBO: 5.5 crore. LBO: 28 crore.
Force 2: The John Abraham starrer has the potential to be the 2nd highest opener of November, mainly because the timing of release is perfect and the trailer has managed to generate quite a bit of interest. However, John’s last film ‘Rocky Handsome’ opened poorly at the box office even though it released on ‘Good Friday’ holiday. FBO: 7.9 crore. LBO: 43 crore.
Tum Bin 2: It’ll be a clash of two franchise films as ‘Tum Bin 2’ will take on ‘Force 2’ at the box office, but both films are targeted at different audience. Not many remember the first film ‘Tum Bin’ which released in 2001 and some people who do, remember the film for its music. There is hardly any buzz, but the costs are on the lower side. Anubhav Sinha returns as director 5 years after ‘Ra One’. FBO: 2.6 crore. LBO: 12 crore.
Dear Zindagi: It’s by far the biggest release of the month. The two promos have been liked and Alia Bhatt sharing screen-space with Shah Rukh Khan will generate a lot of interest. The film also marks the returns of ‘English Vinglish’ director Gauri Shinde and if her second film is as good as her film, it should be the biggest hit of the month too. Shah Rukh’s presence will add a lot of value at ‘Tier 2’ cities as well. FBO: 11.6 crore. LBO: 76 crore.
There are other smaller releases as well. Saansein – The Last Breath, Chaar Sahibzaade – Rise of Banda Singh Bahadur, 30 Minutes, Dongri Ka Raja, Yeh Hai Lollipop – all with Rock On 2 on November 11.
Note: The final FBO prediction will be made on Thursday (a day before release) and LBO prediction on Sunday morning (or two days after release).

SRK may get two awards in filmfare, one for best actor in leading role for FAN & another award for 2nd time in best supporting actor category after deewana.

Cool! But seriously? “SUPPORTING ACTOR” in Deewana. Dude he was the lead. Deewana was the 2nd highest grosser of 1992 after BETA. Rishi kapoor had 0 solo hits and almost no movie in top 5-top 10 solo (mostly multi) in 90s decade, u calling deewana his movie????

In only 10 days, Shivaay has now surpassed the lifetime total of Fan [85 crore]. The film brought in 17.09 crore in the second weekend and with that its overall total stands at 87.5 crore. The Ajay Devgn directed, produced and enacted film is fighting it out on a daily basis and that reflects in the steady footfalls it has managing to gain.
Now it’s very much clear that Shivaay will enter 100cr club before it’s 3rd weekend.
Obviously Dear Zindagi. Its looking exciting.
