Only 7 Hindi films have managed to cross the 10 crore mark on a single day at the box office this year. Only two have crossed the 20 crore mark (Housefull 3 and Sultan) and only one film (Sultan) has crossed 25 / 30 / 35 on a single day.
Salman Khan dominates the list with Sultan occupying the Top 5 spots. Even the 11th day collections of the film finds a place in the Top 25 days this year. 9 days of Sultan has the 10 crore mark and on Sunday, that number will increase to 10.
The only film that has a chance to challenge Sultan this year will be Aamir Khan’s Dangal. The third day will be a big holiday (Christmas / Sunday) and if the film carries good word-of-mouth, a 40 crore plus total ‘could’ be a possibility.

3idiots again beaten Ghajini with 75%+ more collection
D3 (273cr) beaten CE (208cr) by 30% margin
Pk(337cr) beaten d3 (273cr) by 23-24% more collection
In any case we consider for ETT,BB or Sultan even if beat ATHG of that time the margin would be equivalent to CE vs 3i case.
What is my point is Aamir not only passed the previous best but also set the benchmark step higher. These open weeks and no competition is just an excuse frankly. Jungle book despite being a Hollywood release collected 180+crore despite that it faced competition from Fan in second week.Its first week was just 80cr at max. YJHD collected 180cr despite being successive competition with ypd2,fukrey,raanjhna in successive weeks. first week was just 106cr for it.
CE first week was 139cr, ended with 208cr after competition with Ouatimd,madras cafe and satyagrah in successive week.
Salman films not still passed ATHG because of lack of content as well ability to bring more neutral audience after first week. Open weeks help Aamir to generate more crores than previous best as the way his films trended in Christmas even with competition that they were set to be an ATHG.
Aamir was lucky in d3 case in these 4 occasion while Salman was only unlucky considerably with BB.

I am not saying that BB & sultan were huge ATBBs (Sultan has been declared as an ATBB ) only because of Salman fans , even neutral audience & fans of other stars also contributed to their success but in case of aamir’s movies the contribution is much more , you may like it or not

And I am sure if baahubali (although a South film) had not released a week before, then BB was the toughest contender for 350 cr and it had every chance to cross 350 cr. I haven’t seen sultan yet so I can’t say anything about that, but according to me BB is the best salman film in his career and it’s his best performance. In fact, I would rate BB even above Maine pyaar Kiya and hum aapke hai Kaun (my some of the favorite salman films) in terms of quality, content, performance and beauty of the script. I respect your opinion about the rest, but please don’t say that in terms of Aamir it’s all about content first and then trust among all fans. I agree that everyone trust him, but he also has his own huge fan following (of course not like those who go everywhere shouting and all) but definitely he is as popular as salamn if not more. Aamir is king of blockbusters, all time blockbusters and highest grossers and you can’t digest his dominance. I love it. If dhoom 3 is a franchise than wanted, ready, bodyguard, kick are south remakes so south remakes brought salman in the picture. And Bajrangi Bhaijaan has one of the biggest and top directors in the form of Kabir khan. Get this in your head you loser. And Sultan and ett had yrf banner and dabangg was a franchise.
