Hate Story 3 has collected Rs 9.72 crore on its opening day at the box office, which is phenomenal for a film made on a budget of less than 15 crore. The T-Series’ film will recover all its investment in its first two days itself and everything that it collects from Sunday onwards will be profits.
The success of Hate Story 3 underlines the importance of economics. A film like ‘Tamasha’ which was shot at some of the most exotic foreign locations, had a landing cost of Rs 80 crore. The appeal was limited to 10 cities in India. On the other hand, we have ‘Hate Story 3’, made on 1/6th the budget of ‘Tamasha’ but the opening collections of both films are about the same.
In fact, the footfalls of ‘Hate Story 3’ was nearly double of ‘Tamasha’, as the erotic thriller has performed exceedingly well at smaller centres in India – especially at single-screens where the tickets prices are low.

We predicted Rs 9.4 crore as the opening day business of Hate Story 3 and the film has collected Rs 9.72 crore. The difference is just 3%, making it one of our best predictions of 2015. Some of our inaccurate predictions this year were ‘Welcome Back’, ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ – all were sequels. So it was important to get ‘Hate Story 3’ right because the only other accurate ‘sequel’ prediction was ABCD 2.

I think all three Ranbir Kapoor films were disasters this year because the cost was too much and appeal was very very limited. Bombay Velvet had the least appeal, but budget was 120 crore. Roy was extended guest appearance but cost was 50 crore. Tamasha was niche film but cost was 80 crore.
These film were probably planned when Ranbir Kapoor was riding high after YJHD and Barfi. Producers believed the least his films would collect was 100 crore in India.. arrogance had also taken over Ranbir, so he started doing the so called different films.
The problem with some of our filmmakers is.. they say they don’t care about box office.. they say they do films for creative satisfaction.. then why do you aspire to cast big stars? Big stars in niche films = disaster guaranteed.

and no entry was mainly anil kapoor film while in mujhse shaadi karoge,partner govinda akki had overshadowed him
But bhai did make an epic comeback with Dabangg to become the megastar he is today

People can say vulgar cheap but fact of the matter is makers are smart. They have started a franchise which always with low bugdet and adult scenes will bring profits for sure. Hate story 4 shall already be in talks.
Mughse shadi karogi and partner are superhit because of bhaijan and not for akshay and govinda. Ranbir kapoor are ugly actor. I hope sultan definitely beat raees by big margin in bo. I Love u bhaijan

After the success of this movie and underperformance of PRDP, Salman might consider to act in Hate Story 4. Imagine Salman, Katrina and Zarine in the movie. What a block buster that would be. Just hoping that in the end both the heroines in the end of movie do not ditch Salman as happens in real life with him.
