Force 2, Tum Bin 2 Box Office Prediction

Force 2 is the big release this week, along with Tum Bin 2. Both sequels to films that weren’t exactly successful at the box office, much like last week’s release ‘Rock 2’.

Factors in favour of Force 2

• Action is what’s expected to sell tickets, the film should take a decent opening at smaller centres.
• The trailer received a fairly good response and it was perfectly timed too, to cash in on the anti-Pak sentiment.
• Sonakshi Sinha does have a decent following at mass centres.

Factors against Force 2

• John Abraham’s track record in solo films is poor, Rocky Handsome earlier this year failed to take a initial even though it released on Good Friday holiday.
• Demonetisation (invalidation of 500/1000 currency notes) is likely to have an impact on film business.
• Music and pairing (John-Sonakshi) hasn’t worked.

Factors in favour of Tum Bin 2

• Sequel to a film that a small section of audience remember for its good music.

Factors against Tum Bin 2

• Anubhav Sinha is yet to direct a film that has carried appreciation or done well on word-of-mouth. His most ambitious film, Ra One, was rejected after a huge opening due to Shah Rukh Khan’s presence, huge budget and good release.
• No face value: Neha Sharma is the only known face and she isn’t a star.
• Music hasn’t gained popularity
• Cash Crunch.
