We reported in the morning yesterday that the opening of Abhishek Kapoor’s Fitoor was disastrous. But there was hope that the film would pick up towards the end of the day, like most such films do. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen.
‘Fitoor’ has collected Rs 3.61 crore on Day 1, which is lower than both the Hollywood film ‘Deadpool’ and the other Hindi release ‘Sanam Re’.
The reports are mixed to negative too, which pretty much seals the fate of the Katrina Kaif starrer on Day 1 itself.
It remains to be seen where Fitoor goes from here. The film has to double its Friday business on Saturday if it has to have any chance, but reports coming from exhibitors on Saturday morning are ominous signs that Fitoor is heading towards becoming a disaster. The occupancy on Saturday morning is lower than Friday at almost all centres that we tracked and some shows have been cancelled.

After accurately predicting the business of 5 films after the release of Wazir, Fitoor is our second incorrect prediction of the year. The difference is 30% and the reason for this is, once again, the extremely unpredictable nature of film business. Who would have thought that a film that was promoted well, had good music and quite a bit of star value due to Katrina’s presence, would open to such disastrous numbers?

Just watched the film. And where’s that 3 min long kiss? I didn’t found it on film. Indicine just circulates the fake news. Don’t lose your reputation Indicine !!

Katrina u shud work with akshay and salman again
What people don’t understand is she has no starpower i don’t even know why indicine would think that she has star value. In fact i think no women has star power nor value. Their solo movie only works if the content is good. But if it was the khans then the movie doesn’t need content. As much as i dislike Shahrukh khan i can’t deny the fact that he does pull crowds. And Katrina only has big hits because of the main male lead such as Aamir, SRK and Salman.
Casting director is mostly responsible for it. It had good music and had potential to be a good intense love story, but Katrina is not right choice for characters which require good acting skills. In every promos, songs, Katrina’s expression were not up to the mark. Acting is not her strong suit and nobody wants to see her in movies which require her to act, because she’s not that good at it. Audience is also probably finding Aditya repetitive in such roles, he should do something different, he does have potential to try different genre.
