Hollywood film ‘Fast and Furious 7’ has taken a record-breaking start at the India box office, as the film recorded nearly 3 times the collections of local Hindi release ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshi’.
Friday was a national holiday for ‘Good Friday’ and ‘Fast and Furious 7’ was the first choice for movie goers in India. The film is certain to be the highest Hollywood grosser of all time in the country and could also beat the lifetime business of 2015’s highest Hindi grosser ‘Baby’.

‘Fast and Furious 7’ has now collected Rs 24.13 crore in 2 days, with Thursday business of Rs 12.38 crore and Friday collections of around Rs 11.75 crore.
The film is still performing extremely well at multiplexes on Saturday and could record collections in the range of 8-9 crore today, including collections from all versions.
- Thursday (Day 1) - 12.38 crore
- Friday (Day 2) - 11.75 crore
- Total collections in 2 days – 24.13 crore
I don’t like FF series much. But i die to watch Jasen Bourne, John Macclane or Ethan Hunt again…
@Indicine: Needs a log way to become as the highest Hollywood Grosser in India. Avatar did around $24M in India (close to 110 cr. at 2009), followed by 2012. Even Avengers did around $12.6M in India (76cr.)
It has already now done around 36cr. in the first 3 days. It has a definite chance to be the 2nd Hollywood film to cross 100cr. in India which is Outstanding. Though, tough chance to beat Avatar.
Watched this movie last night. For a film about car chases and explosions, it was pretty dull.
Not wanting to give away spoilers, but they almost won me over at the end by doing something unexpected with Dom, but then they undid that by just making it a psych out.

@ sss, vshantaram, vera and all the akshay haters, TEES MAAR KHAN which was released 5 years back and with much less screen count and less ticket price had collected more in its opening weekend than Fast and furious7, so relax and have a chill pill, wait for GABAR and BROTHERS then you will have nowhere to hide

I think #AvengersUltron has a more than realistic chance to beat whatever #FF7 does not only in india but also allover the world….remember #avengers is the 3rd highest earning hollywood movie behind avatar & titanic…
