Many of our readers have been asking for this comparison, so here we go. A comparison between the last ‘non-festive’ release of the three Khans – Aamir’s Talaash (2012), Salman’s Jai Ho (2014) and Shah Rukh Khan’s FAN that has just released last weekend.
None of the three movies have fared well at the box office, highlighting the importance of Eid, Diwali and Christmas for the Khans.
Now that they’ve crossed 50, for the Khans to sustain their super-stardom and prolong their careers in the industry, two things will be very important – films with good content and the most crucial thing could be to get the big festive weekends. Because it’s only during these weekends when the big 250 – 300 grossers come.
Aamir currently has a stronghold over Christmas, Salman has made the Eid weekend his own and the two are currently dominating the industry with major 300 crore grossers.
Shah Rukh has slipped in India with Dilwale and FAN. But it’ll be a matter of one film that strikes gold at the box office. A universal success like Bajrangi Bhaijaan or PK is what he needs and it has to come quickly.
Interestingly, while Aamir and Salman’s career has been filled with ups and downs, the feeling of not dominating the industry is something that’s new for Shah Rukh. More so after FAN, because the gap between him and the Top 2 in India has widened.
So it’ll be interesting to see how he handles it. The big question will be, if he can climb the ladder to the top again. Especially at the domestic (India) box office, because overseas Shah Rukh is still the biggest crowd puller.

Among the three, Jai Ho is the Biggest loset and embarassing disaster as it had way more advabtages than talaash and Fan. It released in 4000 screens, republic holiday release, commercial genre anf remake factor, on the other hand fan had no such thing, no heroine, no song, pure none commercial thriller and released in 3600 screens. But still onky little less than jai ho life time. While Talaash is the biggest winner among the three as it has most disadvantages against it as it released only in 2400 screens, dark suspense thriller genre, released only a week before Khildai 786, and less ticket prise. Still it earned only 10 cr less than 2014 released jai ho and 2016 released fan despite being released back in 2012. So stardom wise, Aamir>>>>>>>Srk>>>>>>>>>>>>>Salman.
@dev what record does your flop 60 car club star Aisha’s achieved? Khans are any days bigger and Baap of whole Bollywood. Your tiny star Akshay is nothing in front of khans. Akshay’s tmk was a big disaster on Christmas. Now what do u have to say? Get some brain. Khans were ruling, khans are ruling and khans will always be ruling. Your flop star Akshay or tiktik can never come close to khans.
Why you didnt include Ready? Ready was a non-holiday release as well
