FAN has recorded the highest opening day collections for films released in 2016, by collecting Rs 19.2 crore on Day 1. The gap between the Shah Rukh Khan starrer and the other films is pretty big.
The second best opening of the year belongs to Airlift, which collected Rs 12.35 crore on Day 1.

Too much of noise about Flop Ho and FAN comparison.
Well, let me try to be honest here.
Ok, so I do agree that despite of having so many negative things going against FAN, it has an edge over Flop Ho.
And the edge was , FAN had the best actor whereas Flop Ho had a non-actor and trust me, this edge was significant.

But should see the scen count too..
Its almost 50% less sceen count the Jungle book had..

fan as a movie is not upto the mark, the writing and screenplay is not enticing in first half.scenes such as fan approching girls in srk style or fighting other person who says something about his star.
and his fans know that that is why they are not shouting like anything and looking for excuses.

BUT SRK is PHENOMENAL. I as a salman fan accept that. and all salman fan,please yaar jai ho was not worst it was a well made film, just not big budget and slightly outdated.and yes songs were a huge negative.and it did not get 3-4 stars from critics like fan.
dont compare everybody in villages and small cities know both of them it is just about movie.ya hrithik i can understand they know him also but not much fan following in villages u ll find and akshay is slightly behind them in cities

Watched FAN @ AMC Southfield, Michigan. Unbelievably outperformed by SRK. 1st half is for all but 2nd half needs brain to get it right(now I understand why few are saying negative about 2nd half). A complete masterpiece. Will watch it again today, already booked tickets for 3:05 show @ AMC Dearborn.

So after positive reviews from critics I think it should cross 200 credit easily as SRK is biggest star on earth.
In reality I think it will finish on 140 crs.

My honest review of FAN :
I promise Srk fans that I won’t be biased even though I am a Salman fan while writing this review.
A Srk movie targeted mainly to his fans and followers. Made by Bollywood’s top production house and directed by not A list director who has average reputation. This movie contains no known faces except SRK and no songs to pull mass audience, does FAN delivers what it promises ?
Gaurav Chandana, a Delhi youth who is a hard core fan of Aryaan Khanna, he will go to any extent to express his love for his idol. He thinks the idol will reciprocate the same attention when he will come to know about it. After winning a local contest he starts his journey to meet the superstar and even travels and stays in the same lodge and same room as his idol did during his struggling journey to become Bollywood actor. After a failed attempt to personally meet & greet his idol on his birthday he devises a plan to get attention of the Superstar and ends up threatening and beating Aryaan Khanna’s idol Sid Kapoor (was it a Ranbir Kapoor parody) ? Being a Superstar Aryaan Khanna disowns his Fan for his crime which turns the world of Gaurav upside down. Now he is obsessed and seek an apology from his idol for disrespecting his feelings. That sums up the rest of the plot.
For me, second half is more intriguing than the first half but yes it does have some unrealistic scenes like how a mere Fan managed to get hold of a Superstars itinerary and managed to break into the supporting crew but that’s Bollywood for you. Aryaan Khanna is even shown dancing in an NRI wedding relating to superstars real life. The climax promises to be a lot only to end up in a disappointing tragedy. Audience could relate and feel more for Gaurav than Aryaan hence end of character was not expected in climax. It also shows Superstars mind only about their status and reputation and will not bow down to any one let it be their hard core FANs. It is also an eye opener for the youth of this country who are obsessed with either cricket or Bollywood idols. Go out make your life don’t get too involved with celebrities lives.
FAN belongs to no one but Gaurav, SRk the actor returns after giving some ordinary movies in recent years but still FAN is not his best work at least not a match to Kabir of CDI. But it is much better than his previous outings. Due to its buzz some Srk fans may not agree but this is what I feel. The climax may spoil the repeat value for neutral audience only hard core SRK fans will go for multiple watch. The vfx is not top notch it is good in patches and bad in few scenes specially when the focus is more on Gaurav’s face expressions. Couple of scenes are very good:
1. When Gaurav meets Aryaan for first time in police station and delivers the line Main Aaj Jo kuch bhi hoon apne Fans ki wajah se hoon….. It leaves Aryaan Khanna speechless.
2. The scene where Gaurav breaks into Aryaan Khanna house and smashes his awards in front of Waluscha (Gauri Khan).
Fan is an emotion for Srk fans but it is way behind to touch evey non Srk Fan hence it is purely for Srk fans and strictly a one time watch for neutral fans !!!!!!

Imo, It deserves only 2.5 stars but half star is for SRK the actor in Gaurav.
I thing srk is best year of the year so far and he remain best till year end If u take commercial valur of movie its mainly targeted to multiplex and srk fand,No lead actress, No Songs, competetion from Jungle book (which is doing well in plexes too.If u take all this in considertaion then 19.2 is very good total.
But as a srk star power it is 15% less i thing friday collection should be 21cr.But for friday it is pass movie and definetly will be profitable for everyone because movie will deffinetly earn atleast 140cr in India in worst case and overseas we can expect 100cr.
