FAN has done well on Day 1 at the box office, but the response has been mixed at mass centres where the film opened well but couldn’t sustain throughtout theday.
As per early estimates, the first day collections will be in the 19 crore range, which would be the highest single day collections of 2016 – ahead of the third day collections of Airlift.
Friday was a holiday in parts of the country for Ram Navami, so the collections of Saturday would be crucial for the long term box office prospects of FAN. If the film shows growth, it would be a positive trend and the film will peak on Sunday.

Based on your own admission, the average critics score is one of the best of this year at 3.5/5. So please do not use words with negative connotations to sway public opinion. The expectations for a movie that has:
-zero songs
-zero romance
-zero comedy
-zero supporting cast
-extremely unconventional and non-commercial
For such a movie, the expectations need to be realistic. anywhere in the vicinity of 19-20 cror is HUGE and thats how you should be reporting it with headlines reading “Fan opens to a MASSIVE response across the country, recording a HUGE 20.1 crore” etc.

Poor collection! All the excuses are nonsense. Didn’t the makers envisage them bfr making it? No songs is jabra a poem? Poor promotion? R u for real? Jabra was done in various lingo, madam tussaud did wax, posters, billboards, teasers, trailers etc what are these called? YRF reach and spread is second to none. If 20cr with out any actress,no songs,not so popular genre and not so great promotional campaign is poor then 16 cr for jaiho with mass genere is extraordinary and 13 cr of taalash with popular actress is record breaking.
