FAN has done well on Day 1 at the box office, but the response has been mixed at mass centres where the film opened well but couldn’t sustain throughtout theday.
As per early estimates, the first day collections will be in the 19 crore range, which would be the highest single day collections of 2016 – ahead of the third day collections of Airlift.
Friday was a holiday in parts of the country for Ram Navami, so the collections of Saturday would be crucial for the long term box office prospects of FAN. If the film shows growth, it would be a positive trend and the film will peak on Sunday.

The incredible wait which started after watching Fan Teaser 1 came to an end tonight as all good things have to eventually come to an end. Was all the talk and waiting about meeting Gaurav Chandana worth it? Hell Yeah !!!!!!!!!!
My feelings after watching the movie and SRK’s performance : Awestruck and Overwhelmed.
SRK is extra-ordinary in the movie. SRK as Gaurav is super duper awesome, amazing and pure pleasure to watch. As Aryan Khanna he is great too. I feel this should be his one of the most if not the most challenging role for him till date as he had to play both the characters and yet ensure that they are very different from each other. Not just the look is different but even the voice and walk is different. It was really like watching two different persons playing two roles. What an achievement for an actor !!!!
There were many top moments in the movie. Some of the most special were Aryan waving from the roof and Gauravs reaction/shouting Aryans name, the first one on one meeting of Aryan and Gaurav (superb scene and second only to the climax scene, gave me goose bumps and Gaurav was unbelievable in it trying to impress his idol) and the subsequent heartbreak/crying of Gaurav, Aryan chasing Gaurav in Dubrovnik, Gaurav at Aryans house and breaking his awards and finally the extra ordinary climax (easily the best scene of the movie and very very very impactful). Still not able to get over that climax and makes me want to watch the movie again.
Not that it is a flawless movie but SRK’s super powerful performance easily overcomes and makes you ignore any such shortcoming in the movie. Can’t imagine anyone else playing these two roles other than SRK. May be I am feeling too emotional after watching the movie but I feel that this performance of his is even better than his other classic movies like MNIK, Swades, CDI, Bazigar, Darr and at par with Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na. That’s my opinion only and different fans will have different favorite roles.
Around 20 years ago a movie ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na’ released in which a character named Sunil made me a lifelong fan of SRK. And after 20 years another character named Gaurav Chandana in a movie ‘Fan’ made me go through the same kind of emotions.
A movie not only recommended for SRK fans but any neutral fan wishing to see a great performance by a great actor.
Finally finished watching Fan after waiting for it for months.
After watching Srk in Dilwale the movie is a sort of ghar wapsi for him.It is by far his most superior film since Mnik.I have been reading various reviews about the second half being a little underwhelming.But I absolutely loved it.For me it was as good as 1st half.
The only letdown being a little underwhelming climax.But anyways Maneesh has done a brilliant job as a director and as expected being a fan of Srk he couldn’t have gone wrong.Some of the action sequences are really good.It looks like a proper high budget summer blockbuster.
Talking about srk I can’t describe how good he was as Gaurav.When he gets a phone call from Aryan for the 1st time just have a look at his expressions.He has excelled as Gaurav.I was expecting him to play himself as Aryan but he shows his class in 2nd half.There’s not a single frame where he fails to impress.You have made amends for all the mistakes in previous years.Farah and Rohit need to be incarcerated for life for ruining such a talent.
Also I would like to make it clear it isn’t about celebrating srk’s super stardom but a tale of a fan who could be you or me and his journey after getting heartbroken.It’s in fact commendable on his part to get mocked by others as Superstar Aryan.
Also as a viewer you would at times feel confused regarding whom to support when the conflict arises.Both characters are so well written that you can’t hate either of them.
The movie isn’t perfect but srk’s performance is beyond perfect which makes the movie a treat for all his fans and more than decent watch even for neutral audience.
Checked bookmyshow saturday booking. Ceratainly not huge. Lifetime 140- 150 cr

I am sure it will cross 20 cr.. As the trend has been positive throughout the day.. Performing at mass centres was nvr a target as I said earlier but it should win hearts which it is.. Saturday is a big day.. A 10-15% growth would be phenomenal considering its appeal only if it crosses 20 cr on Friday..

FAN is having extremely postive WOM. Real Fri Collections could be 23-25 easily. for 2 hrs film. More shows may have been accomodated until late friday.
If you dont have actual number to show please dont just guess on your own prediction despite reviews are between ranges 3.5-4 out of 5.
I don’t care what the weekend or day 1 collections it’s a film meant to showcase the acting of one of India’s finest actor.

This movie was special and SRK delivered performance wise what he promised. As far as box office is concerned, will take whatever it earns. Will prefer a 100/120 cr plus grosser FAN over a 200 cr grosser HNY any day any time for me.

its a non-holiday release. no one will book it. pay servicing charges. Its a non-holiday season. people will just walk to BO window and get their ticket.

As a fan of SRK, I have always been praising his work and even went to the extent of calling HNY an awesome movie.
But “Fan”is different. Its is a good entertaining movie with brilliant first half and unrealistic but intriguing second half. With this movie SRK proves his acting prowess which went missing since MNIK. Its really a treat for his fans like me. For neutral audience too, the movie will not disappoint and will engage them till the end. The climax is brilliant specially the scene “tune sab kuuch bola par sorry nahi bola” and “rehne de, tu nahi samjhega”.
In the movie, some scenes which are just brilliant are mentioned below:
1. Gaurav’s encouter with TT in train.
2. The scene in which police chases Gaurav in hotel. There are three chase sequences but this is best.
3. when Aryan’s assistant informs Aryan about the presence of Gaurav in marriage party.
4. When Aryan’s assistant asks him to agree to Gaurav’s demands as Gaurav is “sanki”.
5. When Aryan’s wife returns with a pistol.
6. The last act of Aryan Khanna at Dusshera Function in Stat Sitara cometition!!!
7. Brilliant climax
