FAN had a huge crash of nearly 86% in its second weekend at the box office. The decline in business is unprecedented for a Shah Rukh Khan film, because even 2011’s Ra One collected Rs 9.65 crore in its second weekend, while FAN has collected just Rs 7.75 crore.
Even Jab Tak Hai Jaan in 2012 collected Rs 11.03 crore in its second weekend. The comparison itself is unfair because business has grown quite significantly from 2011-2012, what was decent then, is extremely poor now.
The downfall of FAN is not only because the film was completely rejected by moviegoers, but also because of the phenomenal run of The Jungle Book. The third Sunday collections (Rs 8.69 crore) of the Hollywood film was more than the entire second weekend business of FAN.
The Maneesh Sharma directed film has collected Rs 79.25 crore in 10 days, it will finish with net box office collections of around 85-87 crore in India.
For a film made on a budget of Rs 105 crore, the theatrical share from both India and Overseas will be less than Rs 75 crore. The recovery from the Indian market will be around the 45 crore mark.

So the writing is one the wall . Apart from MNIK and Don 2 all the movies of SRK in this decade have been in the category of average, mediocre and crap and Fan also comes in this category . Till HNY neutral audiences were supporting SRK but since Dilwale they have completely lost trust in his movies . Apart from the pathetic content of his movies the intolerance statement has dented him very badly . During Dilwale many shows were cancelled in the first weekend and the situation got stable from the weekdays . BM won the clash by a huge margin and that made SRK a butt of jokes on social media as he was also the producer of Dilwale . Now with Fan he is going down and down . Many people have decided to that they will not watch any movie of SRK in theatres after his statement on intolerance . During Dilwale SRK fans thought people will only spit negativity on social media and will forget everything in the future but the fact is people still remember what he said on his 50th Birthday . This is not a social media backlash but a silent March that a lot of people are doing . On two occasions SRK ignited fuel the fire . First when he said there is no intolerance in India before the release of Dilwale . That was a complete U-Turn even if he was innocent why he said all this before Dilwale . The 2nd time he went to Aap KI Adalat and he cleared his stance on the entire controversy once again and again ignited the fire . If he wants that people should forget that statement then he has to keep mum on this entire issue till it is completely over .
It was coming !!!!!!!!! Too much of arrogance and self proclaiming wont last long. SRK, you had your time but people are no longer fools. Still, I wish loads of luck for upcoming movies and hope to see you back in Top 3. All the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe a minor mistake that has been repeated becomes a blunder, for which you have to pay later…! Ra.One, JTHJ, HNY, Dilwale and to some extent RNBJ are the movies which SRK should have been avoided.
‘FAN’ has the old Srk come to live that we were earger to watch. But the makers of “FAN” didn’t achieved what they intend to achieve..! But the ques: is why SRK accepting scripts which has “FLAWS ??.”
Hopeful that “Raees” would be a great movie.
