Like we mentioned in some of our previous updates, Saturday was crucial for Ek Tha Tiger. If business remained flat, it was highly unlikely, that the film would show a huge jump in business on Sunday.
Fortunately, the multiplexes – especially at the bigger centres picked up by 10-15%, while the single-screens remained steady on the lower side. The numbers are on similar levels as Thursday. As per early estimates, Saturday business is likely to be around 15-16 crores nett – taking the 4 day total to 75-76 crores.
Coming to the all-important Sunday, the morning shows haven’t really picked up massively – which is expected, as business on Sunday’s normally picks up from noon.
The advance booking is good, but nothing compared to the mad-rush for tickets on the first day.
Update 3PM: The official collections (from Yashraj) for Saturday is Rs 16.75 crores.
Update 6:30 PM: Has picked up all over on Sunday. Most theatres had upwards of 75% occupancy for the afternoon shows. Sunday should be 20-21 crores. Outside chance of crossing 100 crores in 5 days.
Stay tuned to this page, we will try and give you several updates throughout the day.
@ayan ahmed, 1week ke baad film to nahi chalega…..
@Atul.. My point is, in a country like India we cannot generalize which movie is good or bad. I might like Don 2 more than Ek Tha Tiger, but there are many (mostly in smaller towns) who don’t even watch films like Don 2 or Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. They prefer Ready, Bodyguard and Rowdy Rathore instead.
But these kind of masala movies weren’t being made, because the multiplex audience wasn’t too keen on them. But after Ghajini and Wanted, even Bodyguard and Rowdy Rathore are big-city hits.
@Ayan Ahmad: Of course you don’t. Cuz you watch Salman films. Where wud you learn such things in Bodyguard?
indicine ,.,hhh more den 20 on card :D
@abhijeet: abhi eid to aane do fir dekho salman ka jadu atleast dis wud b 2nd highest grossr of all time if nt first
@indicine: Thanks I got my answer. And I wasn’t talking about you site in previous comments. I knew that you had given it 2.5 stars and I do believe your BO numbers. They are unbiased.
@ayan this won’t even be the 5th highest grosser of all time..
@ayan ahmed……sos is like another crap film ready.
as per boi it’s 73 crores nett in 4 days and sunday is expected to be 20 crores nett which means by monday the movie will collect around 115 crores nett which is simply amazing and it will be interesting to see how it fares in weekdays……fingers crossed!!
@atul: actually i hvnt heard dis term in ROBERT DOWNY JR, BRAD PITT, ARNOLD, TOM & ROBERT PATTINSON’S movie too may b ur star knw’s sum term which only he & U knw
but you are making lots of excuses such as we in ramadan , muslims didn’t watch it , it is working days……. Etc.
But as we all now muslims are minority in india and there absence is not causing 17 cr decrease in day 2 & 21cr decrease in day 3.
@Ayan Ahmad : Again.. It’s Robert Downey Jr. Not DOWNY. And his movie The Avengers made 1.5 billion dollars not some 150 cr rupees. So at least 500 million people know this term but you.
@husseinou way to go dude absolutely right..
@Husseinou.. I dont think you have followed the updates. I have even said on Twitter that – muslims are minority in India (less than 15% of population is Muslim). So, there won’t be a major spike in business. BUT most of those who missed Ek Tha Tiger on Wednesday, would prefer to watch it on Sunday and Monday – as they are holidays.
Business always picks up on Sunday’s unless the word-of-mouth is very negative (like Jism 2 couple of weeks back)
@atul: i think u shld strt doin sum msgs & in my dis cmmnt u’ll point & say its should nt shld its start nt strt so jab bade ho jaoge or mobile milega tab ye lang samjh aayegi
@indicine I visted entertainment oneindia site and its talking about ek tha tiger smashed four day agneepath record and say it collected 20 crores on saturday and four day total is 80 crore plz tell me which figure is right
Why people speak about Ra one here, for example why they do not speak about the players failure and its bad content and why they attribute all bad comments to shahrukh khan fans, some people see ek tha tiger is bad movie and they are free to express their opinion, must they be shahrukh fans,my friend is salman biggest fan but she saw that the movie is very bad and she watched it again for salman however, for me I am akshay biggest fan in the world but i see rowdy rathor was crap and I wrote that , I love salman too and in my opinion salman could have done better that this movie

@fatma: if u r akshay’s fan den y u r feeling bad abt srk?
