Get ready for a fast-paced thriller on Wednesday, as the runtime of Kabir Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger will be shorter than expected.

The average Bollywood film is around 150 minutes (2:30 hours), but Ek Tha Tiger will be around 130 minutes (2:10 hours) long. Now, that’s usually a good thing for the urban multiplex audience, who prefer quick paced shorter films. 

But at single-screens, there is a old belief in the industry,  that people don’t consider a film as ‘paisa-vasool’ unless it runs for 2 and a half fours or more.

Either way, the shorter runtime should mean more shows at multiplexes, which will increase the revenue over the weekend.

Higher ticket prices, wide release, lots of shows, Salman, Katrina, Yashraj… an earth-shattering opening on Wednesday is a foregone conclusion now!

  • Expecting good content from Sallu movies is useless.

    Let us assume 25 crore max. on day 1, 95 crore 5 day weekend, 115 crore extended week.

    After that max 150 crore lifetime.

  • INDICINE….u r saying that there is a belief that in ” single screen that people don’t consider a film as ‘paisa-vasool’ unless it runs for 2 and a half hours or more “….then u r wrong…bcoz ” Dabangg ” duration was 2 hrs 5 minutes N ” Ready ” duration was 2 hrs 20 minutes ” Bodyguard ” duration was 2 hrs 10 minutes ….even then all three movies were BLOCKBUSTERS….INDICINE ..please do u r homework properly then publish the article..OK.

  • ETT will be a blockbuster for sure but good content in essential if it is to take good collections in weeks two and three and only then will it beat the all time record off ‘3 idiots’. People need to remember that ‘3 idiots’ collected huge amounts of money in weeks two and three which helped it to get to 200 crores. Good luck Salman and ETT team.

  • Total Box Office Collection Of Ek Tha Tiger should be somewhere around 175-185 crores…unless it turns out to be a huge disappointment in terms of content…I don’t think it will break the record of 3 idiots as WOD was super strong for 3 idiots where 9 out of 10 audiences liked the movie….To be very honest, only Aamir Khan movie can break 3 idiots record
