The Teaser poster of Tarun Mansukhani’s Drive is out. It doesn’t feature the lead Stars of the film Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez, but it does announce the release date as Holi 2018.
The Holi weekend this year has given the industry it seems biggest hit to date – Badrinath Ki Dulhania – which was also produced by Dharma Productions.
Tarun returns nearly a decade after the release of his last film Dostana.

My question is, by releasing such posters are the makers announcing release dates or booking the holiday. Taglines such as ‘This Valentine’s Day’ for a romantic film or ‘This Independence Day’ for a patriotic film make sense, but highlighting ‘Holi 2018’ for a racing film sounds crazy and reflects how our makers are still are still obsessed with holidays. When will Bollywood focus on the film, are release dates and promotional campaigns. In South, release dates are announce only after the trailer is released. But in Bollywood, dates are booked 2-3 years in advance!
