Don 2 vs Agneepath

About a month after the release of Shahrukh Khan’s Don 2, it’s time for another superstar to return to the big-screen. It’s Hrithik Roshan for the first time after the universal success of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

After two failures in Guzaarish and Kites, the success of the Zoya Akhtar directed film will prove to be hugely beneficial for Karan Malhotra’s Agneepath remake.

Right at this moment, between Don 2 and Agneepath, the later is clearly the more awaited film. News and pictures of Katrina Kaif’s item number has only increased the hype. And all this, even before the release of the music or the theatrical trailer. Honestly, we wouldn’t be surprised if Agneepath manages to match the opening of Ra One, even without the 5 day extended weekend.

There is a lot of similarity between the two films too. Both are action films, Priyanka Chopra plays the female lead and both are versions of classic Amitabh Bachchan films. Talking of the original Bachchan films, Don in 1978 was a huge hit while Agneepath released in 1990 didn’t do too well at the box-office.
