Amitabh Bachchan is one of the best actors in the industry, there is no argument over that. But did his performance in Shoojit Sircar’s Piku deserve the prestigious National Award? More so when there were other terrific performances like Ranveer Singh in ‘Bajirao Mastani’, the immensely popular Salman Khan in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and terrific performances by actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui in films like ‘Manjhi – The Mountain Man’ and ‘Badlapur’.
We aren’t even discussing the other regional language films here, but there were arguably more deserving performances this year in the Hindi Film Industry.
Bachchan was terrific in ‘Piku’, but his performance in the film doesn’t even compare to his stellar acts in films like ‘Black’ and ‘Paa’.

wt a shame ven though i respect big b a lot but he doesnt deserve natinal award for piku … frankly speaking he has not done anything extraordinary or anything which give any social message to the society .. wt all he did was a simple problem of constipation and digestive system of stomach wt a pity ……. for such role .. hrithiks performance in guzaarish lakshya jodha akbar koi mil gaya deserved to get national awards … tat shows even indian government has been bought by cheap khans and paid media channels .. wt a shame …. but hrithik fans will keep continuing adoring hrithik .. come wt may ..

He is nt at all deserving for national awards in the recent given film puku or befre tat one. Its No doubt paid award. Please the jury and get awards. Better performances was thre frm regional cinemas like malayalam.marathi. Bengali of actors mohanlal. Mamooty. Kamal. and Mithun da. Still hvng him award is ridiculous.

No.1 condition.for National award is no jury will be related by blood or relationship with any of the nominees. So how can Saif mother be member of Jury that voted?
2. Prakash jha was not the director of LOBS and nor was he related to Ajay.. So his entry was valid. Gangajal was released 2003 that award was given.when? they are experts from directorate of Indian film institutions invited so why should 1 Prakash Jha influence the whole jury??

Devdas… Remake of a movie having that same title too..Dilip sir. So won’t be considered. Drishyam same in even 4 languages… Won’t be considered. that’s why. Baby BB original scrips.. So had much more edge/advantage over Ajays Drishyam. Happy that many appreciated his acting. Thank you. Let’s hope next year National awards will be much more refined. cheers

I’m a Bhai Fan still I have no hesitation to say that Ajay is a masterclass actor and the most versatile actor ever made, his performances in movies like Phool Aur Kaante, Naajayaz,Suhaag,Zakhm,HDDCS,Company, Legend of Bhagat Singh,Gangajal,Deewangee,Drishyam,Singham and How can I forget Khakee ?, proves his versatility and his method acting skills…. He is the strongest contender for National Award but it seems Jury Members had a problem with Remakes! In 2003, Salman Bhai’s performance in TERE NAAM is better compared to Hrithik’s Koi Mil Gaya act but Remake factor separates it from winning the National Award!!!! ?

Nawaj deserves that award ..he did tremendous acting in manjhi the mountain man. ..even far better than ranveer sing … And badlapur was also there for him……dont know why people neglecting nawaj for manjhi . ..
In Piku movie, Deepika deserved the National Award as an actress. In that movie, her acting was too awesome as a bengali girl.
