Amitabh Bachchan is one of the best actors in the industry, there is no argument over that. But did his performance in Shoojit Sircar’s Piku deserve the prestigious National Award? More so when there were other terrific performances like Ranveer Singh in ‘Bajirao Mastani’, the immensely popular Salman Khan in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and terrific performances by actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui in films like ‘Manjhi – The Mountain Man’ and ‘Badlapur’.
We aren’t even discussing the other regional language films here, but there were arguably more deserving performances this year in the Hindi Film Industry.
Bachchan was terrific in ‘Piku’, but his performance in the film doesn’t even compare to his stellar acts in films like ‘Black’ and ‘Paa’.

as far as piku is concerned it was an overrated movie n amit ji’s performance was cliche n typical.. the bengali accent was way over the top..national award really!

Nawaz ud din deserved it-Though Bajrangi was very good film but the role of salman has nothing exceptional in it-Havent watched BM yet so cant say how good was Ranveer

Really? Well Ajay realized he made a mistake going there. There were just to use him because of his popularity there period. Even a Bjp party source clarified it….Ajay Devgn is not an orator nor is he normally comfortable with public gatherings. He boldly stated after that incident of instructing his chopper not to land because of the crowds that were presence ..”Politics is not my cup of tea” Oct 2015.
Back to your logic …did Ajay win national this year as you stated? No he did not he won it as back as 17 years ago …your early school days..

Reminds me of Ranbir kapoor Barfi how they neglected it despite going for Oscars…the jury excuse “the movie had similar scenes with some Hollywood movies”..one rock solid criteria National award uses is ORIGINALITY .. nodoubts about that…So if Barfi could not win best film because of few said to be copied scenes from Hollywood movies…Why did Black get an award? watch miracle worker I think 1961 or 62…then you will get a clear picture of these day National award decisions atimes.
For me this was a beautiful platform to repay Salman Khan as compensation for making erroneous judgements they made on SRK and Aamir back then but no ….POLITICAL CARTELS STILL CONTROL EVERYTHING IN THE SYSTEM EVEN ON SUCH A PRESTIGIOUS STAGE….?

Ranbir kapur was awesome in Tamasha..even akshay was terrific in baby nd gabbar along with Ranveer singh.

but I think if he doesn’t deserve then Akshay for Baby, or Aayushman for DLKH or Ranveer for BM. they deserves this national award.

I have observed most of the people commenting on indicine forums are moronic Khan fans.. or simply against them. I doubt they lack basic education about acting or any skills associated with it. No offense, but that’s in general about most true of a bollywood fan. That said, Amitabh.. in today’s date is head & shoulders above the rest. He has more National awards combined than all the 3 Khans combined.

I named arakshana(pardon my spelling) if wrong and kurban omkara said did even much beta acting than hum tum. Though deserved non except omkara for supporting actor which I would have not minded
I was sad to see batchan doing this role .
As this will hurt his fans from old days.

Salman khan and Ranveer singh didnt’ deserve this award. Salman khan even didn’t got a single Filmfare for best actor … Ranveer singh tried and get Filmfare that’s enough. National Awards always different and choose the best among them.

I believe Nawaz for Manjhi or Akki for Airlift deserve more than Big B. Salman himself declared he does not need ANY AWARD as far he is getting audience love, appreciation and support. I would rate Ajay’s act in Drishyam above Akshay of Airlift however since Drishyam is a remake hence they didnt consider it for nominations I guess !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big B is a legend however one cannot just do injustice with other deserving actors just because of seniority !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With due respect to amitji..i dont fink he deserved it zs year.i think we have to b honest zat we have seen better performances in 2015.nawaz salman & ranveer performances were more powerful zan amitji.z credibility of national awards has to b put in question for me for zs yr.its sad to c injustice being done. Those saying Salman and Akshay, I don’t agree with them..because still performance wise Amitabh Bachan was way ahead in Piku…sorry Salman n Akshay can do good moves but can’t perform extraordinary. AJAY in Drishyam perform excellent or Ranveer in BMW.
