Dilwale has collected Rs 102.65 crore in its first week at the box office, which is the 15th highest opening week of all time. The film was steady on its 7th day at the box office, but it hasn’t shown the kind of growth that was expected out of it on Thursday.
The extended holiday weekend began yesterday and the film had to pick up by around 10-15%, which would have been a positive trend going into the all-important second weekend. The growth from Wednesday, however, was just 5%.
There has been a lot of talk about protests affecting the film, so we decided to talk to a few people in the trade to discuss the real impact of disruptions. Trade sources put the All-India impact on business at around 4-5% for the first weekend and less than 2% during the weekdays when things calmed down. This equals to a loss of around Rs 4-5 crore for the first week.
More than the protests, the key for Dilwale was to sustain and show a positive trend at centres where it had an uninterrupted run. Moreover, the losses incurred is expected to be recovered this weekend, as the film is now running at 99% of centres in India where it was previously scheduled to run.
Moving away from the past and into the future, the second weekend will be extremely crucial for Dilwale. But even though it has enough shows at multiplexes, Dilwale has lost about 30% of its shows at multiplexes to both ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’.
Having said that, the shows are spaced out well throughout the day and as long as the occupancy is high, Dilwale still has a chance to score in its second weekend.

I bet u indicine or people there is not even one person who didn’t received the msg of boycott dilawale and negative comments about srk…..there was so hard campaign against the film ….so many negativity around us it was not happened dilawale has chance to earn 150+ easily …….
@Indicine:Why there is no article on worldwide collection of Dilwale. Please publish World wide collection of both movie
only christmas can save dilwale to become average otherwise in such condition it can’t do more than 130. now it can do 140 so its verdict should be above average.
Dilwale’s overseas week 1 business ($13 million/ Rs 86-87cr) is more than Bajirao Mastani’s domestic week 1 business (Rs 86cr).
Bajirao Mastani got released in 850 screens overseas & yet managed $6.5 million while Dilwale has done double ($13 milllion) in 700 screens.
Dilwale has already surpassed PRDP lifetime business in UAE in just one week & will surpass PK lifetime in next 2 days.
Highest week 1 for SRK in overseas:
Dilwale: $13 million
Happy New Year: $10.75 million
Chennai Express: $10.25 million.
@Akshay to socho 9 back to back century wala kaun hoga. uska bhi baap.
What is collection of #Dilwale and #BajiraoMastani in overseas in the first week? I am overseas fan….. waiting for your answer @indicine
Even if the film collected 200cr(domestic) in the first week these haters will say it’s a flop and SRK is manipulating the figures. That’s the only comment they know when it comes to SRK movies. So fans just relax and ignore these haters.
Such a crap film is U-Turnwale that it was lucky to even earn this much.
All eyes on Star Wars n BM this weekend- no more interest in Flopwale- its a disaster
Dilwale has clearly been rejected. By the end of christmas weekend BM maybe ahead of Dilwale coz starting on 2nd monday dilwale will crash really bad biz may only pick up on new year’s eve & day.
Dilwale will struggle to touch 180cr it may even not be able to break YJHD record LOL

@ Akshay
Why they released film in whole India.
It would great if they released in Bengal only.
Who is this Guy who is Putting name of God in these Silly Discussions. This Gareeb Wale Fan seems like he does not know where to use ” Har Har Mahadev”. Bhaiya Bas karo Dont trouble Shivji for silly things. He has more important things to look into then Dilwale and Bajirao Clash.
Don’t bring God into everything you do. Even God will not like that.
Dilwale not affected that much due to protest. …it’s normal n happened in past as well…actually movie suffered badly due to boycott campaign for srk’s intolerance comment. …my mostly frns not watching movie and proving their patriotism in this way..
@indicine I don’t agree with u. Don’t the imapact of protest was only 4 to 5 crore. Fans of srk were beaten by goons at places and family audiences were afraid to come for dilwale . Too much negetivity by the media nd haters. Still Dilwale is performing much better just bcz of srk. Srk is one man army. The proof is overseas collection. Dilwale is going to be an alltime blocbuster this weekend itself. Love u srk and proud to be srk fan.
Srk is the pride of india. Its strange the way he has been treated in his own country. He is the most loved indian around the world. Proud to be srk fan.
Good collections.. Expected more but its OK..overseas business has compensated..lets see what the Xmas holiday period brings in for this film in India as well as overseas
media created srk
1994-2015
finish,,
salman 1989- still on top,
wtf yr…stop nonsense of show cancelation srk fans.
there is full chance today is 25 dec see no 1want to watch srks dilwale.those who watched it fr its hype r telling people nt to watch it.
graph of srk is spiral lower down.
hny 180cr to dilwale 140 cr.
n he cnt clash with bhai who is roaring with 320 cr films on his own . without any multistarrer.
it is good collection for sure…….SRK is undisputed king of Bollywood …even in his bad phase his movies collect well…..even in overseas it collects hugeeee soooo ….we Srkian are proud to be his fan…….he is alone right now …..He doesn’t deserve this …….and all the morron here compared solo release with a clash? even people with no brain will know the results……..for me SRK is bigger then sallu……if compared with screen count……sallu lost ….big time……soo to compare SRK with local star??????? a big no no ……….and some idiot said that rs is bigger than SRK ????????? ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????
Hmmm weekend should be in the range of 35-40 . If it happens, then Dilwale will put a decent total on card.
But since many screens of Dilwale are shifted to star wars and BM , it will really interesting to see how it goes from here on.
BTW I’m in a shirt trip enjoying the Xmas extended vacation. So I might be less active on this site, particularly when it comes to give back to the “haters”.
The film wasnt exactly romance at 100mph n here the collections too didnt reach 100cr at 100mph…!
We need an article on slowest movies into 100cr club- Im sure the baghban couple would make it to the top…!
We also want an article on the oldest couple to enter the 100cr club- Im sure tha baghban couple will top here too….!
I also received that BoycottDilwale msg but in reply maine itni gaaliya di ki abhi take gaaliyan hi gin raha hoga
All multistarrer movies of srk for overseas 25 40 41 42 69 100 cr collection
Look at srk fans. Now they are just care about overseas collection lol
I don’t understand this why srk fans comparing Dilwale with PRDP
PRDP is a Family Drama
Dilwale is Masala Movie
PRDP is totally depend upon Salman Khan stardom (with no big supporting cast, we all know that)
Dilwale is a multi starer (all big star cast SRK, Kajol, Varun)
This is just showing the frustration of srk fans b/c they just can’t handle the failure of dilwale…..grow up srk fans and accept the truth and prepare for the upcoming movies…
@Indicine Accepted Domestic collection is not up to mark. But Movie is doing exceptionally well on overseas marked. The way it is performing in overseas it looks like worldwide collection would go past PRDP.Why there is no article on worldwide collection. Please publish article on worldwide collection of Dilwale.Atleast that would spread positive wave for Dilwale
Srk fans why industry or media support dilwale, it’s a crap movie, if it’s a good movie than you can ask for support. And it’s also clear that protest does not affect the collection too (damage is just 4-5cr in 1 week)….so stop giving excuses…and accept the truth….Dilwale is FLOP…
