Dilwale First Weekend Box Office Collections

Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale has collected Rs 65.09 crore in its first weekend at the box office, which is very good when you consider the fact that the film was up against Bajirao Mastani (which is carrying excellent reports) and also the disruption in screens in different parts of the country.

Dilwale now enters the most crucial phase; the box office fate of the film, including that of its investors, now relies on how well it performs on Monday and the remaining weekdays.

At centres we tracked, the occupancy for the morning shows on Monday is around 50-55% lower compared to Friday – which is a normal drop. The film is looking at first week business in the range of Rs 100 crore.

  • For clashes, fans are always in safe position. If their favorite film does not do well then they say “its a clash so we are happy with the collection” but if it does then “our film has crushed them, we are king of clashes etc”.
Forget about the FIGURE. Just concentrate on the performance. Dilwale dropped on Saturday where it should have shown growth. Sunday should have been better to compensate the loss and it did but could have been more. Yes, protest has dented Dilwale collection but to limited extent. Protest was not nationwide and was not in all theaters. It was on selected areas and theaters therefore, collection hampered in those areas. But what about the rest of India? Film failed to show growth on Saturday across the non-protested areas (i.e 90-95% of India) and the growth was 20% on Sunday.
Therefore, it can be seen that the word of mouth is not strong for Dilwale and it may not sustain well in the long run. Trade says the Red Chilies sold all India rights at 120cr. If it is true then Dilwale needs to collect at least 220cr to break-even. Hence, the film needs to hold well and capitalize the upcoming holidays.

  • Ha ha ha ha best comedy is SRK haters full time active on this site and twitter…ha ha ha ha ha….they are promoting Dilwale without any cost…Thank you haters..keep going….

  • @Indcine, did you give same excuses when when jai ho under performed due to controversies, low ticket price and minus starcasts? Shame on you for blatantly defending Dhobiwale too that extent.

  • Now it will end up around 170 crores.. Every film has its own shares of pros and cons. So dont give excuses. And accept the defeat graciously.

  • @xzone is that really you an SRK die hard fan?????? i salute you …….you have a beautiful heart…..not like bhaitard fan ….they have no manners…….????????????

  • @Indicine People r against SRK its not against him it’s against all Muslims bcoz he spoke about growing intolerance in the country, do u think 65cr weekend is less for a masala entertainer? Critics r degrading him as he spoke against intolerance, all Mumbaikars supporting SLB for making Bajirao a historic venture, non of them know what his fans can do in worst scenario, people can even remember My Name is Khan movie, it’s still a bet Dilwale will easily cross 200cr & challenge CE lifetime surpassing BM.

  • According to haters 85cr is larger than 150 cr ha ha ha ha….salmir fans saying b.m biggest blockbuster, dilwale semi hit…lol….b.m released over 3000 screens in india and 850 screens in overseas…85cr weekend gross..
dilwale 3000 screens in india and 700screens in overseas 150 cr weekend b.o.
is 150 is less than 85??? can u teach me??? how???

  • @Aryan you retard, megastar aamir khan is the biggest megastar of the generation. He is biggest star since his smashing debut in 1988. He is megastar without the backing of YRF and dharma due to his supreme talent, hard work and fan following. So better get lost. Srk is just because if YRF and dharma. He never was, never is and ever will be as big star as megastar aamir khan. He will always remain a toddler in front of ultimate megastar aamir khan.
