Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale has collected Rs 20.09 crore on its second day at the box office. The early estimate that we posted before anyone else on the internet, turned out to be closest to the actual collections.
The film has dropped by around 5% on Saturday. Several centres which come under the C.P Berar circuit were affected by protests and cancellation of shows, but the film was expected to show the big jump that usually comes on Saturday. That, unfortunately, was missing as Dilwale remained flat throughout the day. The growth at multiplexes did not come.
The fate of Dilwale now depends on the growth it can show on Sunday and how well it passes the all-important Monday test. A jump of more than 20% today would be a positive sign for the weekdays. Morning shows today haven’t really shown that big a jump in business. Collections are at around the same level as on Saturday or a little higher.
The worrying factor for the investors of Dilwale would be the box office performance of Bajirao Mastani. The gap which was Rs 8.2 crore on Friday between the two films, has come down to Rs 4.56 crore on Saturday. Now, if Bajirao Mastani can further close the gap, it has every chance of doing what looked impossible prior to release.
The box office game is so unpredictable that even a legend who has achieved everything that there is to achieve in the industry (and more), will be going through some nervous moments in the next couple of days. He won’t lose money, economics-wise Dilwale is a safe film, but this was always a battle of egos, the winner takes it all.
Dilwale Box Office Collections
- Friday – 21 crore
- Saturday – 20.08 crore
- Total collections - 41.08 crore
Yes the collection should have been 10% higher than what it is currently but whenever a big film releases and takes a bumper opening like dhoom 3 , chennai express takes a 10% dip on saturday! And again takes up on Sunday.. Yes collections should have been definetly more but considering the clash factor it cannot be stated as film as underperfomed. Both Bajirao and Dilwale have release probably on the same number of screens. The diff is less than 10% between the screens of both the movies. So Dilwale is a movie which opens big and would remain on the same level. Expect 22-25 cr today. And Bajirao a movie which would start slow then grow and remain steady. Both the movies are performing well. Trade wise the collections are in the range of 33-38 cr on a non holiday weekend which is excellent. Yes dilwale should have collected more but hypocrisy of few political parties willl never go away..
All in all being a SRK Fan happy with the collections with a tad dissapointment. If the collections would have been low due to bad content it would haven’t hurt as much as it does now when u know it could have easily earned more 2 crs but due to such stupid external things its low.
Anyways lets wait and check on the monday trend. That would give a clear cut picture about the films acceptance!
I have a strong gut feeling that Dilwale is going to suprise in weekdays. Not counting out BM but just a beleive in movie which i enjoyed thoroughly!!
today’s collection will be in the range of 20cr or slightly higher but collections are crashed from monday onwards if movie hold well on Monday then it has chance to beat Crappy New Year or else 150cr !!!!!!!!
it has collected 75crore worldwide in 2 days….it has already recovered its budget what more do you need. There is christmas on friday which make 3 day weekend…nd then new year nd weekend after that…so both movies will be a hit…dilwale a worldwide hit nd bajirao a desi hit
I dont know why, but there is too much negativity for SRK. When PRDP was disappointing, these type of hatred comments were not present, but when Dilwale is underperforming, all types hatred comments are being written for SRK.
And why SRK does not get a solo release or a film witbout any protests, but Aamit or Salman, they always get solo release and a clean release. This shows that how much SRK is hated, even by the film industry.
But SRK will always be loved by his fans. Even if his movies will not work, we will love him as he is the most intellectual superstar of our generation.

Don’t judge a film by its openning day or weekned otherwise both HNY n prdp cross 200cr. If films release 4k plus screens on holiday without compition the 30cr average weekned cackwalk but on 2700screens with clash plus non holiday plus negetivity 23cr average weekned should consider excellent, lets Monday come everything will clear

Decent collections..a 5% drop is okay but now sunday has to show huge jump..anything below 24 crore will be a disappointment…An all important festive period is yet to begin so will be interesting to see what kind of numbers both the films put up and who takes better advantage of holidays
