Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale showed some growth at the box office, even though the film lost screens and shows to both ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and Hollywood film ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’. The film has collected around 8.1 crore at the box office.
The other release, Bajirao Mastani was simply phenomenal right from the start of the day. The film is now performing well Pan-India and even centres that started slowly have gained tremendous momentum. The film has collected around Rs 12.25 crore. It has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office
As far as the clash is concerned, it was expected to be Dilwale all the way and the Rohit + SRK combo after Chennai Express was expected to set the box office on fire. But Eros have been smart and have played their cards well. They were ruthless prior to the release of the film, ensuring that their film got a wide enough release. Their distribution experience and expertise has helped. Post release, the content has completely taken over.
While a solo release might have helped, releasing Bajirao Mastani during Christmas has proved to be extremely beneficial. The clash against a Shah Rukh Khan starrer ensured sustained publicity all over the media and internet. The ticket prices are on the higher side during festive weekends and now in Week 2, it was clearly the first choice for movie goers at multiplexes.
Dilwale too hasn’t really succumbed after the initial hype, even with considerably lesser number of shows in Week 2 and tough competition from the other releases, it has performed reasonably well. Especially at single-screens where it was rock-solid on its 8th day.
However, a film like this, for the kind of price it was sold for, had to collect in the range of Rs 225 – 250 for the distributors to recover their investment. Shah Rukh Khan, the producer, is safe and Dilwale will be a profitable venture for him, but individual distributors are set to lose. Rajasthan distributor will lose around half his investment of Rs 8.5 crore and Delhi/UP and Punjab distributor is also set to lose.
In the overseas markets, the story is completely different. Bajirao Mastani is performing very well and has now crossed $7 million mark (Rs 46 crore), but Dilwale is inching closer to the 100 crore mark, with collections more than double as compared to Bajirao Mastani. The 8-day overseas business of Dilwale has crossed the 90 crore mark and should get past 100 crore by the end of this week.
The worldwide gross collections of the two films is around Rs 245 crore for Bajirao Mastani and Rs 182 crore.
First time pasting the same comment in another article…..reason…….@Indicine have still not approved my comment, since yesterday, which i put on another article.
Just watched Bajirao, and there is one word to describe it….
GRAND !!!!!
Brilliant and beautiful setting, superb acting by lead cast, a moving and powerful story.
I would rate it 4.5/5……….the 0.5 rating i left out, because i wanted to see it more…..i know the makers wanted to edit and shorten the length of the movie…..but it was so engaging that a further 30 to 40 minutes wouldn’t have made a difference….I found it unfair treatment to such a beautiful movie and story.
Ranveer, Deepika, Priyanka……and Bhansali…..take a bow !!!!!
A person who have insulted our legend Manoj kumar & Dev anand at the time of om shanti.who accept a very poor, chip way to achieve success with that buffalo Farah khan, who is a Wankhede villen should get punished on box office.bas itna Hi apane hath me hain.and we will do our job honerly.
i am agree with @sss saying ….haters and distributors are saying that their protes hardly can effect 5 cr of total collection of DILWALE but their never said what damage they did by affecting neutral people mind by saying “dont watch deshdrohi’s movie ” in social media, watsapp etc….the real thing is 5 cr is not the loss they are telling, the real loss is people negative though about dilwale…that they able to spread this loss cant be fulfiled in place of some money,..this is what that cant be replaceable…..
and hence from the justice point of views……KING KHAN is the winner of this CLASH END OF STORY…….and for the morron out there iranveer is nothing without dp and pc ….let alone SRK…………SOOOOOOO all the goons here just take your burnol for multiple times so you can rest for the last??
small things hurt dilwale in big ways
1-Intolerence comment
2-Protest
3-Show cancellation almost 800
4-MNS appeal to people for boycott Dilwale
5-More than above Amir Khans statment because memory of people is short because Dilwale realise they target srk till Dangal people will forget this situvation
5-Negetivity from Salman and amir fans
6-And more hurt taking BM granted and BM got funtastic WOM best of the year with BB.
Still if Dilwale collect 170cr in India it will be huge win for Us concidering all above fact…
Tomorrow is birthday of salman bhai…so indicine we want great article on him just like you did for aamir khan…
So Dilwale is big winner by worldwide collections . In India Bm will take a lead of 5 to 10 crores bt overall worldwide Dilwale will be way ahead so Congrats srk fans. King always rules.
RCE did mistake by distributing Dilwale, UTV should distribute like CE

Dilwale is looking for 200 crore itself in overseas. Movie is yet to be released in Germany where people know only srk frm india. We Shameless fan of Ruk Ruk Khan use logic of BOI when there is talk about Domestic Box Office but we use Red Chillies Entertainment Record when there is discussion about opening day…..
We troll everyone including Indicine.
Thank you @Indicine.com for several reason
@shobit well said … Ahahaha poor srkians…..
Bajirao an awesome movie
Watched Dilwale yesterday and I regret watching it….what is wrong with rohit shetty?cant he use his brain? He copied scenes from how I met your mother and mission impossible…now coming to srk….he also ruined his king of romance image…no matter how much u try u will never be able to match Ted mosby….u r choosing ur script poorly sir…cant believe this guy also give us exellent films like CHAK DE INDIA,kal ho na ho,veer-zaara and many others….Varun is back in his Mein Tera hero days…seriously man!cant believe u did this shit acting after Badlapur…Kajol was good and kriti was ok….boman was wasted and johny liver was wasted….overall it was a bad film
Pl see both movies nd compare the quality then coment
@Tiger why only focussing on dilwale , BM trade figure 12 crore and here it is 14-15 crore. Bas srk ke liye itna hate Ki baki sab baad me jaye. And don’t even talk about overseas dilwale has already crossed prdp overseas lifetime collection and inspite of competition from star wars.
Indicine dont exaggerate the figures it is just 12.5. U r trying to spread negativity about dilwale . Dilwale collected 8.7
Hey morons and intellectuals give more screen space and see the result of DILWALE everybody played their role to perfection Eros, slb , the policians, the multiplex owners everybody with a premeditated plan to bring down DILWALE yet it scored sorry to disappoint you guys the cost of both projects is the same so both have to do equal numbers anyway it’s a foregone conclusion that DILWALE will be declared a flop and efforts will be made to promote or force people to see BM in the coming days even if it is to distribute tickets free of cost well done EROS SANJAY saab all the best your dream project Bm is no match to DEVDAS, BLACK or HDDCS or even for that matter your first film KHAMOSHI she were real classics not BM
Srk is benda
When you got only 2800 screens & your competetior get 3050 screens which is more than 10% & after 1st weeken u are suppose to loose screen
This is kha ki samajdari
Even in overseas you get only 700 screen & competetior get 800.
Expect only to cross TWM record of 152 crore
But kuch bhi kho movie was too damn awesome & family entertainer
Yes we accept that dilwale’s down…But its not a flop…Atleast accept failure..Salman fans coudn’t accept jaiho’s failure…they r giving shit excuses… Remember one thing this is not an END

@medicine team, what happened, you was posting many time yesterday that BM 8th day collection will be more than 15 Cr,but just saw in your chart 2nd weekend 2015 where you have posted BM day 8th collection 12,25,so srk was wright when he said even the Bollywood media is showing negativity against him.
excellent Indicine for always supporting my best (kingkgan)
Hi guys who talk abt srk film I think he is winner all d way bcoz Hindus banning film media spreading negative review abt lost almost half screen still rock solid see your self who is winner n honestly good entertainer I m sure haters will agree in heart not on face n not just that it realised with historic Hindus hero’s called peshwa good warrior
@mechanic:
Hahaha….I am not a mechanic to predict 50cr opening day & 400cr storm for any movie unlike some paglapurians like you. You liar hakilawale show me where I have predicted so.
Don’t make yourself fool. Bhai has two movies entered 100cr club within 3days- Bajrangi Bhaijaan & PRDP. But hakila has only one I.e multistarrer HNY.
You have said PRDP failed to enter 200cr club. That’s mean you have started believing BOI. Hence, you also believe hny opening day 36cr, hny lifetime 176cr, jthj lifetime 101cr, CE was just a blockbuster not ATBB. Happy to yy accepting the truth….!!!
why don’t they confess dilwale is dud instead of making pretexts.
Oh! so sad for Dilwale fans. How the hell do they thought that Bajirao Mastani will be a flop. Look Dilwale is now looking like a flop before Bajirao Mastani. What a disaste. Ha! Ha! Haaaaaaaaaa.
bm muvie superhit ! the gret maratha
Watched dilwale yesterday and after wathing I though it was the biggest mistake of my like, I had a fight with owner of cinema, such was my anger I become Bajrangi Bhaijaan and beat him to death….
