Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani Advance Booking Update

Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale has taken a huge lead as far as the advance booking is concerned. The response in West Bengal is unreal, as the film has registered the best advance booking in recent times – ahead of SRK starrers like Chennai Express and Happy New Year.

In the NCR region, Dilwale is leading by a distance. The ratio seems to be 90:10 in favour of Dilwale, although the advance booking of Bajirao Mastani opened a day late and hasn’t yet opened at several centres.

Business in Maharastra and Gujarat will be crucial for the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, as not only did Ram Leela perform well in these circuits, but Bajirao Mastani is about a Maratha warrior. As far as the advance booking goes, Dilwale, currently, has a lead in both Maharastra and Gujarat.

Dilwale aside, the response to Bajirao Mastani has been better than what it would get with a solo release.

Note: Bajirao Mastani Advance Booking hasn’t opened all over. Stay tuned for a more detailed update tomorrow evening.

  • some movie manipulation
    1) HNY 36 to 45
    2) PRDP 39 to 41
    3) Kick 25 to 27
    4) PK 26 to 27
    5) CE 30 to 33
    6) BB 26 to 27
    7) Bang Bang 24 to 27
HNY and CE have highest no.1 of manipulation. Both films r of Red Chillies Entertainment and Unfortunately DILWALE is also of RCE so m dying to see what will be manipulation of Dilwale.

  • Another all important article..one more again on Thursday night, and it will be crystal clear which film is heading towards which kind of an opening.. No surprises after reading this one, Dilwale will lead in every circuit from start to end and will collect more than double than Bajirao Mastani on its first day..

  • I don’t want to be unrealistic, but considering the trend and buzz I will predict 240crs for dilwale and 90-110 crs for bm.

  • in ncr the ratio of dilwale& bm is 9:1.in kolkata the buzz is homogenous.so get ready for the blast.dilwale 1st day would be in the range 25-30 cr & bm 10-11 cr.

  • PREDICTION OF BOTH FILMS:-

Opening Day: Dilwale (25-30 Cr) = BM (09-12 Cr)
    Opening Weekend: Dilwale (85-105 Cr) = BM (34 – 38 Cr)
Opening Week: Dilwale (125-150 Cr) = BM (55-65 Cr)

  • Srk is a genius; at the verge of release of dilwale, he started showing unbelievable closeness to salman. Now pangu fans of sallu bhai will watch dilwale!!

  • Barring Maharashtra SLB’s film can’t do well anywhere, but Dilwale has SRK that’s why in Maharashtra Dilwale is far ahead than Crap Bajipao,,,nd Dilwale’s reports r outstanding, @ZingTvUk rates Dilwale 4.5 stars out of 5…says Dilwale is a full of entertainment, srk nd kajol r brilliant…

  • Bajirao Mastaani will find it a tough struggle at the box office for two reasons, The first being its a clash against a big film and the second being a weak director who normally finds regional success which will not do with this huge budget. This regional success becomes an even bigger issue with a clash. Below are the ratios for Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed films for Mumbai circuit.

    Khamoshi – 38.02%

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam – 46.86%

    Devdas – 31.27%

    Black – 41.45%

    Saawariya – 44.92%

    Guzaarish – 40.16%

Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram – Leela – 43.62%

All the films be it success or failure are lopsided in Mumbai circuit barring Devdas which has a normal ratio and that was due to the presence of Shahrukh Khan. There will be around 100 crore up for a grabs in Mumbai circuit for both films and even if Bajirao Mastaani does excellent and takes half of it, the normal 42.5% ratio of Sanjay Leela Bhansali films will mean a little over 100 crore nett business but that is with a 50/50 result in Mumbai, the numbers will be scary if the circuit goes in the favour of Dilwale. The result Bajirao Mastaani will really need is to beat Dilwale at least 60/40.

The pluses for Bajirao Mastaani are that there is a lot of hype with the clash in the media and this may have created more awareness for the film than had it come alone. So despite the content holding little interest in places like Delhi / UP, East Punjab and West Bengal initially, maybe awareness could help bring in respectable footfalls in these areas.

Another plus is basically by default as the film will not get the huge release in terms of multiplex screens and a smaller release can sometimes work in favor of films which are regional or more niche in content especially if word of mouth strikes.

The third is that it did pre book the better single screens with Bajrangi Bhaijaan in Delhi / UP and Maharashtra and this should help especially in Maharashtra. In Delhi / UP it will be less effective as the directors films barring Devdas have never worked in Delhi / UP. In fact in UP, all have been big duds outside Devdas.

The film should manage to do well in Maharashtra, CP Berar and Marathawada side of Nizam though it is Gujarat that will be deciding factor for the film, if Dilwale goes the way all Rohit Shetty films go in Gujarat then the writing will be on the wall for Bajirao Mastaani as Mumbai circuit will not be up to the mark and with Gujarat not performing, its very unlikely that other areas can come to the rescue.

  • What a Artical…” Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani Advance Booking Update”

Note: Bajirao Mastani Advance Booking hasn’t opened all over.

Naam Bajirao Ka Sari Tareefen Crapwale Ke Liye.

    lol

    lol

    lol.

  • Dilwale all the way!!!
Dilwale will be a big hit for sure. No one can predict how big right now!
Bajirao will benefit because it is competing with Dilwale!

  • On a good note. All the best to both the teams. I know being a Entertainer Dilwale will be ahead however the biggest question how much BRM dent Dilwale’s collections ???

  • Bajirao Mastani also has good advance and almost equal screenings
    Opening would be
    Dilwale 21-23 cr
    Bajirao Mastani 16-18 cr

  • At least bajirao mastani is not another pathetic car blasting movie like Rohit shetty movies. …
Hope Bajirao mastani will do better than Dilwale

  • Spoiler: Dilwale doesn’t have an interval, it has a 10 mins video of SRK promoting second half of his movie Dilwale. Hshahaha

  • This is the first time I’m hearing that fans are verbally abusing exhibitors/trade circuit people on social media for giving good reports on Dilwale.

heights of obsession and yeah we are tolerant
