The Delhi High Court on Wednesday stayed the release of Madhuri Dixit’s upcoming film Gulaab Gang, which is slated to release in theatres this weekend.
The high court said that the film cannot be released in censored or uncensored form.
A case was filed against the film for staying its release by activist Sampat Pal Devi, the founder of Gulabi Gang. She has accused the makers of not taking her permission.
In an interview, Pal had said “I will stop the film no matter what. Without my permission, they can’t release the film. These people don’t meet me and make anything they want to. Television and films distort the truth about my life. These filmmakers do anything they want to, they add ‘mirch masala’ to the story”.
Pal also said that the lead star of the film Madhuri Dixit, is yet to meet her in person.
Yar ye politician ko films se problem kya hota hai,
Itni achchi movie banai hai, trailer awesome hai fir inlogo ki problem kya hai.
it was gunna be a flop anyways
Sampat pal herself is on the verge of losing her leadership of gulab gang due to mishandling of finances. She’s now after this movie for publicity.
