Aamir Khan’s Dangal has become the first Hindi film to cross the 100o, 1100 and 1200 crore mark globally. The film has already ‘grossed’ 1270 crore worldwide and by the end of its 3rd weekend in China, the film should be closer to the 1400 crore mark.
Dangal becoming the first Hindi film to gross 1500 crore looks almost like a certainty, unless there’s a unexpected drop in collections in the fourth week.
Check out the highest worldwide grossers:
No | Movie | Collections |
---|---|---|
1 | Dangal | 1401 cr |
2 | PK | 761 cr |
3 | Bajrangi Bhaijaan | 625 cr |
4 | Sultan | 583 cr |
5 | Dhoom 3 | 561 cr |
6 | Chennai Express | 406 cr |
7 | 3 Idiots | 391 cr |
8 | Dilwale | 386 cr |
9 | Prem Ratan Dhan Payo | 374 cr |
10 | Bajirao Mastani | 362 cr |
Overseas, Dangal has become the first Indian film to gross $100 million in any country excluding India. It has now collected 2.5 times more than the previous highest grosser – which also happens to be Aamir’s ‘PK’.
As far as non-Aamir Khan films are concerned, the overseas grosser of Dangal is more than ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘Dilwale’, ‘Sultan’ and ‘My Name Is Khan’ – all combined – and Dangal is still running strong in China.

Full steam ahead… expecting third wknd to cross 100cr again…!
Mindboggling numbers
It will IMO comfortably cross 1500cr WW but I still will be upset as for me it needs to go past B2’s WW final tally….!
Im being greedy? YES so what as I love bollywood over other regional cinema…!
@1:52pm aWOman kapoor
Abey idiot name a dozen or so of Rajesh jis movies then…?
Ask any Indian today to name a dozen Rajesh ji, Big B and Aamir Khan movies and I bet you ppl will be able to list 12 movies of Big B n Aamirs alot quicker than remembering any Rajesh Khannas movies…!
Hits are great but BlockBusters and ATBBs are something else altogether…. ppl n I mean random ppl will know of Sholay n PK instinctively but a Rajesh Khanna movie may take them afew secs longer to name one…!
PS dont come back here with a copy paste wikipedia hatchet job trying to make out you know 172 or 72 Rajesh Khanna movies ok
@Sky
Again u are missing the point
Thing is not about scale its about freshness-something new.
Though not largely successful we saw films like Dangal before but 3 idiots had a lot infact all new to offer
Even jo jeeta wohi seekandar will be a better pick if novelty and newness is concerned
Chinese calculator Roxx ..
@Jnr. Khiladi, I understand your frustration dude because your fanless gobar Kumar can’t even dream to achieve even 10% of collections which dangal will collect in china alone. LOL.
