The 2nd Friday collections of Dangal, which is on a record-smashing run at the worldwide box office, is higher than the opening day collections of all movies released this year except Sultan (36.54 crore), MS Dhoni (21.3 crore), FAN (19.2 crore).
That’s the extraordinary level of business that Dangal is sustaining at in its 2nd week. The 2nd weekend collection is certain to go above the 60 crore mark and could even surpass the 70 crore mark if it shows the kind of growth that it did in its 1st weekend.
The 2nd weekend business of Dangal is also likely to be higher than the 1st weekend of all other 2016 films except Sultan.
The numbers are beyond extraordinary, exhibitors say the film is getting repeat-viewers and the family audience (the oldest section of audience included) are also coming out in big numbers to watch the film.
Dangal is more or less certain to become the highest grosser of all time. Given the trend and the fact that it has nearly 5 weeks before the next two big releases – Dangal should put up numbers that will be difficult for films in 2017 to beat, or even come close.
Aamir Khan is well on course to deliver yet another all-time highest grosser during a weekend that he created and has dominated.
