We’ve just been informed that Red Chillies Entertainment’s upcoming Eid release Chennai Express will now release on August 9th instead of the earlier announced release date of August 8th 2013.
The Rohit Shetty directed film stars Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead.
The reason for the postponement hasn’t been revealed, but it looks like the makers want to cash in on the national holiday for Eid-Ul-Fitr.

bhumi forget to say that these srkians will watch ce in theatre not only 09th aug or 15th aug but all the 7 days from 09th-15th aug and probably two shows per days sorry they can’t bear there srk in 4 shows daily so they will watch him 2 days and now with this move my prediction will be right as it will only break first 3 days recored not more than this………

Hahaha SRK fans have got a respite now- thank god for the postponement they secretly wish…! Because we all know that the extra day will now be used to absolutely guarantee that atleast on Youtube, the Chennai Express trailer gets a BlockBuster status.

ra.one had 3300 screns,negative wom but still manage 25 crore collection in it’s 2nd day.so i think ce is going to beat ett opening record as it will have 3500plus screns and there is no effect of wom in 1st day. So 1st day will be around 35 to 36 crore.
@beingsallufan: get your own id first before pointing others. FYI…. the world remembers only BB & ATBB not flops. srk hits are no longer remembered, after 2-4 years nobody will break srk record of giving most hit movies without giving any blockbuster.
