We’ve just been informed that Red Chillies Entertainment’s upcoming Eid release Chennai Express will now release on August 9th instead of the earlier announced release date of August 8th 2013.
The Rohit Shetty directed film stars Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead.
The reason for the postponement hasn’t been revealed, but it looks like the makers want to cash in on the national holiday for Eid-Ul-Fitr.

Good disicion because we muslim bro don’t watch films during ramadan even i can’t watch the film on 8aug. So now every records will be in danger, 1st day col of ce will 35cr plus sure even it may cross 40cr anything can happend, because ce create 92% buzz befor 3week of its release. Life time col will depend on content because content is the king of boxoffice and srk is the king of bollywood.
now I think OUTIMD ll find it more difficult to get screens …
hope my king finally manages to score at the box-office. hope the magic of Rohit Shetty Sir saves my king’s career.

i don’t think that its a gud decision….i don’t knw what make them to take this kind of decision….but our long wait has extended for one more day….but collections will differ or not, it will be the matter of concern..

Since 9th is a friday so no added benefit. Loss of an extra day. they actually were trying to be smart when they made Ekta kapoor shift her date release for OUATIMA. They wanted to get benefit of an extra day when eid was on 8th and now since eid is on 9th,they have no choice.15th aug is a bigger holiday and the makers of OUATIMA will be having their last laugh.
