Shah Rukh Khan’s FAN is one of the biggest non-festive releases of the year and expectations from the film are high, more so after a trailer that received a good response from majority of the audience.
The film releases in theatres on April 15 and all eyes will be on the opening day collections of the film. If FAN scores on Day 1, more big films could target smaller (or normal) weekends to release their films, as major holiday weekends are getting more crowded with each passing day.
The first target for FAN would be to surpass the opening day business of 2013 film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ which collected Rs 19.46 crore on a non-holiday (and non-festive) Friday.
No film that has released on a working day without the advantage of a festive weekend (i.e Eid, Dilwali, Christmas) has collected more than Rs 20 crore. Will FAN be the first film to do so?

YJHD had ‘novelty’ factor going for it. So does FAN so far in building the hype.
Audience are interested to see how tense of a thrill “SRK-vs-SRK” factor generates through out FAN running time.
If the overall psychotic drama thrill factor in FAN is kept high, WOM will be very strong. And this will carry month long imo.
FAN must open in 4300+ screens. FAN must be crisply edited down to 2 hrs maximum as it has no romance angle, no female lead like YJHD and no songs. Its screenplay requires it to be very tight.
