Brothers has done reasonably well on its opening day at the box office. The film has collected Rs 15.2 crore net on Day 1, which has made it the second highest opening day grosser of 2015.
However, considering the budget, star-cast and banner, Brothers should have taken a bigger opening both at single-screens and multiplexes. The occupancy at metro cities was on the lower side throughout the day, even though the film did pick up at multiplexes evening onwards.
Brothers is yet another Akshay Kumar film that has fallen below trade expectations on Day 1. His last film that opened well was ’Rowdy Rathore’ back in 2012. ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara’ also took a good start, but couldn’t sustain because of negative word-of-mouth publicity and competition from ‘Chennai Express’.
Reports from theatres is mixed, so it remains to be seen how well the film does on Independence Day holiday today (Saturday). In the last 3 years, film business has crossed the 30 crore mark on August 15th, making it one of the biggest days for the industry.
In 2012, Ek Tha Tiger shattered box office records by collecting Rs 32.92 crore on Aug 15. In 2013, the combined business of Chennai Express (Day 7) and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara was Rs 30.6 crore. In 2014, Singham Returns collected Rs 32.09 crore.
With two big holidays in its first weekend, Brothers has got one of the best release dates this year. The ticket prices are also on the higher side as compared to normal releases. The big question is if Brothers can take advantage of the big holiday weekend – during which the box office fate of the film will also be decided.

Story of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo
Salman Khan is in double role of King Ratan and his lookalike Prem who is a common man.
1 introduction song each for Ratan n Prem.
Ratan has a doting sister played by Swara Bhaskar. 1 song with the sister.
Ratan is engaged to a girl, played by Sonam Kapoor.
2 songs with Sonam Kapoor.
Ratan also has evil brothers played by Neil Nitin Mukesh and Armaan Kohli.
They envy Ratan’s popularity within his kingdom and also his power.
Neil and Armaan come across Prem and they hatch a plan of abducting Ratan and replacing him with Prem so that they can grab all the property of their royal family.
But Prem, being the hero of the film reunites Ratan with his family.

Ratan saves Neil n Armaan from getting jailed.

brothers can’t earn money as expected because the story was very poor so in 2nd day on the eve of independence day it could earn about 16 crore that means it can earn like holiday about 110 crore.

Akki is one of the finest actors all his performance have been praised this year.I still think brothers has taken a bigger opening.
Disappointing.. At least 17-18 crore should have been done if not 20..seems like Akshay Kumar has completely lost his pull at multiplexes..also,single screens were not bumper..if single screens would have been bumper then 17-18 crore might be a possibility..As far as lifetime business is concerned it will fail to beat the reasonable expectations..might finish around Houseful 2 and Holiday lifetime collections but these figures were expected to come in First week itself..May be time has come to admit it that Akshay Kumar has lost his superstardom. But he will be considered a star though because not every actor manages a 11-14 crore opening day consistently and that too a couple of times every year. .And i won’t be surprised if Singh is Bling opens below Gabbar is Back although having a much bigger holiday than the former on its first day..

when i saw the trailer of bajrangi and brothers then i liked brothers trailer very much but…. when i watched bajrangi in hall then i feel very happy to see that movie and when i go to watch brothers in hall then i feel that trailer was only better than bajrangi but if we compare this movie with bajrangi bahijaan then salman was better than akkii this shows that akki will never be capable to make movies and earn like salman khan.Akki sir should have to work hard

I am really disappointed with its collection. Somehow Akki is getting better as an actor but Akki the superstar loosing its sheen. One word for Akki fans no need to loose heart he just need one right movie with right promo and content just like Salman with Dabangg. For me Akki is still superstar alongwith KHANs and Hrithik.
