Dharma Productions’ Brothers releases in theatres tomorrow and the film is expected to take a good opening at the box office. The theatrical trailer received a good response, but the song promos that followed weren’t able to sustain the buzz. The much-hyped song ‘Mera Naam Mary’, which was expected to recreate the magic of ‘Chikni Chameli’ also hasn’t done well. In fact, the entire music album has come as a disappointment, which is surprising because the same team (Atul-Ajay-Karan Malhotra) were behind the chartbuster songs of ‘Agneepath’.
Because of its action genre and Akshay Kumar’s presence, Brothers is expected to take a good opening at single-screens and mass centres, but the opening is unlikely to be at the same level at multiplexes. The family audience is unlikely come out in big numbers to watch a film like Brothers, but that could change if the word-of-mouth is good.
#IndicineFBO: We expect Brothers to collect Rs 15.5 crore on its opening day. Saturday is a holiday for Independence Day, so the business of the film should escalate Friday night onwards. Day 2 and Day 3 could be huge if the film is received well.
