The hourly countdown has well and truly begun! Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year will release on Indian screens in less than 40 hours from now. The craze the film has managed to generate is tremendous, and the demand for tickets in advance has further encouraged the trade into believing that the film has every chance of breaking opening day records.
The early reports from those who have already seen the film is excellent, but then there has never been any big film carrying negative pre-release reports in the era of social media.

After the initial euphoria, it will all boil down to the content. If Happy New Year is as entertaining as Farah Khan’s Main Hoon Naa or Shahrukh’s last release Chennai Express, then expect records to be broken left, right and centre. After all, when Chennai Express ended its run, it was the highest grosser in India as well as the first film to cross 400 crore worldwide.

@ vignesh yes storm is about to crash, it will crash the pockets of movie goers with substandard and glossy film like HNY, I am not blaming you, however, if craps like singham returns, kick, bang bang can collect 150-250 crores then with 6000 screens definitely yes 350crores is cake walk for HNY. I saw it on first show today.. Didn’t like it, sorry Shahrukh. 3 hours is too much for this film which is a comedy with no content, but am sure it will do great at the box office.. best of luck

I checked out the movie today in Dubai n I must agree that is totally entertaining!!! The KING was at his usual best n looked amazing too! Abhishek n Boman prove their brilliant comic timing yet again! Deepika did a great job too! Sonu,Vivaan n Jackie Shroff didn’t get much scope but do their parts well. Abram Khan’s screen debut in the end credits ensures you go home with a smile!

I’ve asked u the same question while releasing Om Shanti Om.. don’t (accept) or (sign) for such crap films.. you deserve good films like Chakde, My Name is Khan, Swades, Dil Se, Veer Zara, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, etc.. this cheap comedy films is just not for you! Farah Khan should’ve selected another actor for this film, Akshay was good to play this role only because he fits in such roles, but not you!!
