What the trade thinks
Ashok Ahuja (Percept Picture Company) – It was hard to choose between Ghajini and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Both the films rocked (at the box office). Hrithik is number 2, Akshay is number 3 and Salman is at number 4. The kind of excitement generated by Three Idiots, My Name Is Khan and Kites is palpable even though their release dates are yet to be set; the euphoria associated with Aamir, Shah Rukh and Hrithik is very high.
Amod Mehra (Trade consultant) – Aamir is a clear number 1 because each of his films in the last five years has been different. Shah Rukh is a close second, Hrithik is third, Akshay is fourth and Salman stands at the fifth position. However, a hit or two here and there and these positions could easily change
Komal Nahtha (Trade Analyst) – Bollywood depends a lot on these five men because they have a fairly high success ratio. You have to go by aggregates; individual films may run or flop, but these men net good averages. Akshay leads the pack with his earnings by virtue of the fact that he has done the maximum number of films. Aamir and Shah Rukh are neck to neck at number 1 and Hrithik and Akshay share the number 2 spot. Salman currently occupies a solo place at number three because he hasn’t had a spectacular release after Partner.

I’m just feeling so sorry that some indian ppl here never respect their super stars and they r indian too!! did I ever – since I joined this website – describe any actors with the following words: donkey.. monkey..haklu.. etc. whether they were seniors or juniors? never as u know.. so why do u allow these ugly ppl who never respect anyone to comment on yr website.. you must “immediately” without even warning them delete their comments.. that’s my request.. even if someone describe Akshay or Salman or any other actors with these words.. I’d never agree because they’re humen being and will get hurt by describing them this way! so what if they read all these words mentioned here about them?!

It is clear that SRK is the number one. Whoever says anything. He is the best and no one can beat him. He is the gurantee for any movie. There is a craze of shahrukh in the world. He is the king of not only bollywood but king of the whole world. He is the self made man.

So wat Akshay has done more films? Had SRK, Amir done equal number of films, who can say how many would have been flops?? Amir plays safe… Akshay is the best since he has taken risks, some paid off and some didnt but he did bring most of the money to the industry… he is the clear numero uno … No way u can take average and consider number 1s… If someone is doing so many movies, his hit ratio is bound to come down…. had Akshay done only Namsate London, Bhoolbulaiya, Heyy Baby, Welcome, SIK and KI, he would not have any flops and his average would have been the highest…. but rather than playing safe like Amir or Hrithik, he has taken the risk and brought crores to the industry… He is D saviour…. hats off to u Akki
Hi Guy’s i just want to say something few i dont think people they support to accused akshay, he is 1 among best in bollywood history. Doing 17 films in 5yrs is not easy if hritik or shah rukh did this their going to have many flops than akshay. If not akshay who can do this with out audiens didnt tired of watching his face in screen, dont 4get 2007 yrs where he deliver a HIT movies NAMASTEY LONDON,HEYYBABY,BHOL BULAYYA and WELLCOME. Who is going to do the same among all this actors. By the way iam happy for amir and i respect this table and u people do not forget that this is the only actors who make bollywood still alive, so cheeeeeeeers them n wish them all the best.

Aryan: what does this indicate.. when Akshay doesn’t mind doing 17 movies in 5 years.. which means he does 6 or 7 movies in a year.. and any movie he does would finish in 30 or 35 days at maximum! so even if any of his movies wouldn’t gross more than 30-60 crores.. still he’d make higher than other actors because he makes lots of movies.. he doesn’t need “great” script or “great” directors who spend almost one year or more on making any movie.
As u know.. good movies require time, money, good script & brilliant directors & producers. Film making is just similar to bank employees.. some ppl do good work but they leave and go home ontime, and some don’t mind working extra hours..overtime so they earn more money.. but these employees who spend more time making money doesn’t mean that they’re more qualified or more talented or smarter.. they just need more money there4 they kill themselvs working day and night.. so if Akshay works harder this would never prove that he’s better than Shahrukh, Aamir & Hrithik

I just want to say tat this is not the way to figure out the ratings….i wud say directors can be rated as 1,2 &3 wheras actors cannot b judged, they all r doing grt8 the superstars…
Aryan, box office opening is completely dependent on an actor.. A Priyadarshan film with say Akshaye Khanna would open to 10 crores.. But with Akshay Kumar in the lead, the first week could be 40 crores+ See the difference?
After Week 1, it comes down to word of mouth.. But these days more 60% collections are from its opening week, hence value of stars has increased considerably since 2006..
Comparing directors would be very unfair, if the particular director hasn’t worked with big stars.

Except Hrithik rest all four were in Industry for almost 20 years, Except shahrukh all of them are facing ups & downs in their career, so I highly beleive that Shahrukh khan still dominating the box office he is simply the ruler, and Hrithik is close to Shahrukh because his movies have done a better business since he launch, Aaamir & salman is there in this Industry before than Shahrukh khan , after so many failures and some big success they are in this List and Finallly Akshay Kumar he is good in comedy & action, his recent films create many box office records but for me he never ever come top as a best actor
