2014 has come to an end with PK recording the 4th highest weekend collections of all time. Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year continues to top the list, but benefitted because of two holidays in its first weekend.
Dhoom 3 follows at the second spot with net collections of Rs 107.61 crore in its first weekend. The film would have collected a lot more if it had an extra holiday.
Chennai Express (including paid previews) comes in at No 3. Krrish 3 and Kick released during Pre-Diwali and Pre-Eid respectively, which is considered to be dull for movie business.
2015 releases like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Tamasha (or Raees) and Fan would be targeting the record currently held by Happy New Year.

Hahaha Indicine added paid preview again to show srk film ahead, while its weekend was around 93.5 official but as per trade 87 cr,As per trade pk collected 92.5 cr in normal weekend. its homogeneous. As per trade or official both ways Aamir had two films among top 3 weekend of all time and also both were normal holiday release.Aamir you rocked man.

I am searching for Aamir haters and there excuses as they all got heart attack again.
Just 2 day before on 18th, I said it is last day of celebration for Aamir haters,And I know I was right.
When the first day figures out,people start to say movie failed blah blah,now look the figures guys.
2 year earlier Dabangg 2 released on 21 DEC 2012,it was a mass entertainer with biggest release at the time of 3500 screens,collected 60cr in first weekend domestic while it was a mass entertainer with extremely popular movie sequal.
3 years earlier Don 2 which again a sequal of a film which prequal itself was remake released on 23rd DEC 2011, with 2700 screen (highest that time) including 350-400 3d screens, as we know 3d screen rates were higher than normal rates collected 48 cr in 3 days.
Why I am talking about these films is because both Dabangg 2 and Don 2 was sequal of successful film having two superstar Salman and srk respectively whose fans claims they alone is ahead than anybody.Both Don 2 and Dabangg 2 were highest non holiday opener that time, now last year released Dhoom 3 became not only highest opener of non-holiday but also of all time which all India figures is still highest than any film till date.
Now with pk when trade figure suggest 56cr also officials are also same that weekend is around 90 cr+ which is higher than trade figure of full fledged holiday rekease CE 87 cr without previews.While PK is not the biggest release ever,even Indicine admit that screen count is less than kick and hny.
Despite being film is multiplex oriented it simply outshined the figure of last year holiday film CE still Aamir haters saying he has no stardom.
With a sequal of successful film both srk and salman on this period just got the same faith at box office which Aamir got a brand dhoom or hirani than I don’t think there fan has any right to bash Aamir stardom.
Even high ticket rates or other factor count the 80% higher figure than Don 2 and 50% higher dabangg 2 it suggest even in worst case pk has same footfalls which these two film had.
Still Aamur has no stardom, an bhai issue jyada stardom to kaisi ki nahi h agar Aamir ki stardom nahi h.
And please don’t say that Dabamgg and Don are not brand at least It has biggest two brand if Bollywood what else you want more.
P.S.-nothing against srk and salman stardom but a strictly some fact and you can say anger of die hard Aamir fan like me.

PK released on Pre Christmas while Kick Pre Eid so their weekend collections are less compared to HNY which released next day to Diwali but PK and Kick were targeting lifetime collections and Kick succeed in it and now PK is also looking all set to beat HNY lifetime collections.
Life time collections matters the most there is no point in getting a 100cr weeknd and lifetime below 200

Today I want to ask @romance who was keep talking bullshit about pk as film shown a Pakistani boy-indian girl affair.I want to ask him that did he boycotted srk and his film when he said Pak players should allowed to play IPL even we have faced tragic Mumbai terror attack.Where was he when srk said he feel insecure in India which make Pakistan to take dig on India.
Moreover where was he when Veer Zaara released which is my fav srk film in romantic Zoner,while being a Air force soldier he left Indian Army just because he loved Pakistani girl zaara.While being a army soldier it is his prime duty to serve India and control his emotion/personal relation but he went there,spend 22 years in prison so that there is no harm on self respect of zaara.What a big hypocryte you are.I am feeling ashamed on a srk fan like you who has just crossed the limit of Hateredness,I was thinking that complan boy is the worst visitor here on Indicine as srk fan but even he is looking a gold in front of you.Utter shame.

Srk has blockbuster srk-farah-dp combo moreover Chennai express pair repeat.
Hrithik has Kat which is undoubtly most popular actress current time with Dhoom kind of role and remake factor
Ajay come back with Singham sequal.
Akshay got a solo post IPL release with a remake of Ghajini fame director and last Aamir with Hirani.
I don’t thing any body has any excuse if their film not done as expected from them.
I think kick and Singham returned performed well while bang bang,holiday,hny collected decent but they underperformed.
While jao ho underperformed big time.
I think kick huge success dent Singham returns collection otherwise SR would collect around 160-165cr after flying start.
Now PK is looking to score big at boxoffice after huge weekend both in domestic and overseas.
At last Aamir passed with flying colours.

I think in 2015 Bajrangi Bhaijaan and PRDP can challenge this record . Why i am not saying Fan because it is releasing on a Non Holiday and will have only 1 holiday in 3 days . There is no Hrithik, Aamir and Ajay in 2015 . Baby, Gabbar, Brothers and SIB are all releasing on Non Holiday . Only SIB will get a National Holiday on its first day if it releases on 2nd October . Bombay Velvet, Roy and Jagga Jasoos are Non Holiday releases . Tamasha and Bajirao Mastani are getting Christmas . If there is a clash then collections of both these movies would be divided . The fact is Ranbir and Ranveer are not so huge stars but 2015 might be a important year for both of them . The most important factor for me is there will be no Hrithik and Aamir in 2015 . I hope 2015 turns out to be a successful and well as year for brilliant content oriented movies . All The Best to everyone .
