Don 2 released today and while the reviews are mixed, Shahrukh Khan’s performance has received tremendous appreciation from both the critics and movie-goers.
Which brings us to the question; Will SRK win the Best Actor award for his performance in Don 2?
Before we pick our choice, let’s look at some of the best performances of the year (from commercially successful movies only, as others don’t stand a chance)
These are also most likely to be the Filmfare Best Actor nominations for 2011
- Hrithik Roshan for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara – Has no chance this year as Farhan Akhtar’s performance received more appreciation. Is Farhan a contender for Best Actor? Unlikely, but these popular award nominations never fail to surprise!
- Salman Khan for Bodyguard – Well, both his roles in Bodyguard and Ready had no scope for acting histrionics. Salman fans won’t like it, but we doubt he’ll win the Best Actor award this year. If he does attend, a new award category is likely to be created!
- Shahrukh Khan for Don 2 – One of the best performances of the year and easily his personal best since Chak De India. Will he win this year too?
- Ajay Devgan for Singham – A box-office monster with good performances. But Ajay doesn’t attend award functions and has publicly said, he doesn’t believe in them anymore. He’ll be nominated, but they would rather give it to Salman than Ajay. Similar roles, but Salman being the more popular actor, chances of winning for Ajay are bleak.
- Ranbir Kapoor for Rockstar – Again, one of the very best of the year, but does he stand a chance against SRK?
- Amitabh Bachchan for Buddha Hoga Tera Baap / Aarakshan – Both films flopped at the box-office, no chance.
So, the two major contenders are Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. Out of two, if we’d to pick one, it would be SRK for Don 2. Simply because we loved his character and his performance.

All top 5 actors in fact are the best actors.. Shahrukh, Salman, Aamir, Hrithik & Akshay.. all of them r so good.. each of them got million of fans following.. all of them do good and bad films, no one is perfect.. remember this and always.. no one is perfect.. if today Shahrukh will win the award, tomorrow Salman will, the day after Akshay will, Hrithik will.. all of them get good films and good chances of winning.
So u guys never bother.. this year the actor who worked (harder) in his movies will win.. and they’re just 2.. Shahrukh and Ranbir.. both of them deserve and I am sure that both of them will win but in different category.. Salman will not win the best actor award but his movie Bodyguard which I didn’t like in fact will win some awards.
Aamir will win nothing.
Hrithik too may win for Agneepath.. I am sure
Akshay.. sorry.. although he did a v good job in Patiala house.. he doesn’t hv any chance this year and his performance in Thank you wasn’t anything special.

Sachin Malik: excuse me if I tell u that you’re wrong about the awards and ppl who win.. if that was true.. then how Aamir who (never) attends awards functions won for Taare Zamine Par ( although he didn’t attend the award ceremony in that year?) I remember Sajid Khan was hosting the show and he kept a big picture of Aamir Khan on a table and made also a joke out of it.. that he never attends and he won!
